Favorite non-original pieces of music?
I'm partial to Italy's house themes of Dragon Ball and What's My Destiny? Dragon Ball(coolest nonsensical name ever for DBZ)
The theme they used for DB captures the feeling of the series perfectly, almost rivaling that of Makafushigi Adventure. It captures the intensity of the fights, and sense of wonder.
I'm also partial to the 1995 US Dragon Ball dub theme. While I feel it doesn't fit the feel of Dragon Ball that well, it's just a badass tune that fits perfect for Saturday mornings.
How about you Daizex?

Yeah, I always loved Rock the Dragon. For the longest time it was the "defining" theme for Dragon Ball Z when I was a kid; hell, all the kids at school knew it and made jokes with it! And you have to admit--it was damn catchy.
Outside of that, I always liked the instrumental opening FUNimation's dub used on the second opening. It wasn't particularly fitting, persay, but I'm a sucker for melodic guitar pieces.

Hmm several reasons I guess:NeptuneKai wrote:
Ha ha oh man, our moons certainly aren't aligned. Why don't you like it? I think it's pretty catchy.
1. Too many active parts, sounds too jumbled
2. Not enough stereo spread in the sound
3. Some really awkward dissonances in the lead that should have been thought out better.
4. Too repetitive.

"Gohan Angers", dispite the bad grammar of the title (then again, a lot of the Faulconer tracks are mis-titled or poorly spelt).
Not any specific track, but more in the context of the show (or a mix of all the songs I put together).
Fuck you Faulc', how dare you not release the "violin" moment of that song.

I liked a lot of the Shuki Levy stuff that was in the Saban/FUNi episodes of DBZ. I think it's absolute crap compared to the Japanese music, but on it's own it was fun to listen to with the show. It was definitely closer to the spirit of DBZ than the stuff from Season 3 and onward ever were.
Also, I can't help but still crack a bit of a nostalgic grin when I hear "Rock the Dragon."
Does the Kai soundtrack count as "non-original," too? I like just about everything on the Kai soundtrack.

What is my Destiny. The dance mix of it though - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RmRVvbHNzGo
I used to really like the Dragon Ball one too but that was years ago when they were new to me.
And this, it's an opening from Brazil I believe - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nD2zyU8qMX0 - It's sorta not quite almost Makafushigi Adventure...
