GT Soundtracks?

Post by sumpter360 » Sat Nov 14, 2009 2:53 pm

Have there ever been any soundtracks released containing the GT Opening and Ending Themes? If so, where can I get them? I love those songs from GT...

Unfortunately, no official GT soundtracks have been released. There was a bootleg, but I don't recommend that.

No OST has been released, but you can find the singles on Yahoo! Japan Auctions Japan. It might help to know what they look like. Since Yahoo! Japan Auctions won't ship to outside Japan, use Celga.

And was that bootleg complete with all of the DBGT bgm? I've always wondered about that.

Um, there kind of was a GT soundtrack. The Dragonball 10th Anniversary Movie had a nearly complete OST, and starting with DBGT episode 16, nearly that entire movie soundtrack was used in GT, so a lot of the last 3/4 of the series has been released.

And thankfully, Super 17 (colonelsilver) has ripped all of the unreleased tracks in high quality and put them up for download.

Actually, it had a more than complete OST - it was the movie itself that left stuff out.
Track 5 starts out with a slow, mysterious theme that, after half a minute, jumps abruptly into a happy-go-lucky motif, for the scene where Goku runs off to grab Siu Xing Qiu, then goes back into the low-key phrase that builds up into a huge introduction to Shen Long. They cut the happy stuff in the middle out, I guess because it sounded too ridiculous for the composition, and I daresay I agree with them, but it's left in for the soundtrack.
Same thing with track 18. It's only 46 seconds in the movie, but on the CD, we get an extra 30 seconds.

Why can't all OSTs follow this example?
BGM forever! If only more people paid attention to it... well, I intend to change that.
