What exactly does "Tokusentai" mean?

Discussion, generally of an in-universe nature, regarding any aspect of the franchise (including movies, spin-offs, etc.) such as: techniques, character relationships, internal back-history, its universe, and more.

GOOD GOD! Wasn't the dub from '93?! Terrible quality!
Technically it's an adaptation and not a dub since the storylines are different. Anyways the Japan footage was like that for awhile during the first 9 seasons. It was easy to tell when there was American footage and Japanese footage. Season 10 onward, it gets a little harder to tell which is Japanese and which is American.

The '93 Power Rangers was awesome! It was the only season I actually liked. Then again, when i was 6, I had no idea it was dubbed over.

You are right, because I remember this one episode where they fought some skeleton guy that wore a witch's top hat. The whole episode looked pretty legit until they got into the battle. When they were sent into its parallel world the footage became somewhat blurry and looked older.

In Power Rangers Rita's actress is Japanese and so is that Scorpion woman. Therefore the only original American footage is when the Rangers are in class and their hangout spot. Because I doubt that in Japan they would have a black guy with a flat-top breakdancing.

So does this mean that the sequence where the Megazord was created is from the original Super Sentai series?

 Are you saying that Rita, Goldar, Lord Zedd and company are really from the Japanese sentai series instead of being American actors? I liked Power Rangers up until those robots, enemies from Lord Zedd, arrived (I don't know their American names since here in Portugal, we had the series dubbed)

Well, this topic is already doomed.

Rita, Scorpia, Goldar and the crew up until Lord Zedd was Japanese. I'm pretty sure Lord Zedd was a US created badguy.

Oh and dont shoot me but I really liked the last power rangers, Dino Thunder because they brought Tommy back, sorry but I loved the old show as a kid because of him so it was a geek out effect.

Tommy > All

SPD is actually pretty watchable as well. Infinitely better than that lame excuse that was Ninja Storm.
Battle High 2, starring Kyle Hebert as well as myself, has been released on Xbox 360, OUYA, PC, Linux, Mac, and Xbox One!

How many eps into SPD are you guys? I have to watch it on ABC kids so I've only seen the first episode.

I think there're about 5 or 6 now.

Uhm... Crap, what was the point of this topic again.
