I recently got a Piccolo poster (looks like this) for the apartment. Its up in my hallway now next to a Smash Bros. poster and a One Piece poster. Oh yeah, the bitches are FLOCKING to my pad.

I recently bought DBZ Remastered Box Sets 4, 5 & 6... will get 7, 8 & 9 to complete the set but meh. I'm going to get the original DB manga translated by Viz, in that new box set style and it's so cheap for all 16 volumes! Can't wait.
Parents don't let me order online even though I'm 16... (asian thing), but I can get a friend to do it for me and I can get that whole DB box set manga for £46 off amazon.com!

Why not get the Vizbig instead?

I'm quite new to the manga, can you tell me more about it, please?

Ok, I`ll assume that you just want volumes 1 - 16 of the original Dragon Ball manga. Those are already available to buy in the Vizbig format.

You can read this review I did of Vizbig edition of Dragon Ball. It corresponds to the first 16 volumes of the original manga : http://daizex.fanboyreview.net/viewtopi ... =7&t=11271

And you can also read this post (keep in mind that in this post I talk about all the 42 volumes of Dragon Ball. The Volumes that correspond to the first 16 volumes are already out and complete. The Z part of the manga isn`t complete yet. If you don`t know what the Kanzenban is, its a special edition of the manga that came out in Japan. Its been called the perfect edition of the Dragon Ball manga):

The closest to the Kanzenban right now is the Vizbig edition. Its sort of a mix between the regular edition and the Kanzenban. Why? Here`s why:

- It has the color pages that the Kanzenban has, but not all of them. About half of them remain in grayscale like the regular editions. And yes, they are the same colors that the Kanzenban has. Just not all of the color pages are there in color.

- It has high quality paper like the Kanzenban. I`m not saying its exactly the same type of paper, I`m just saying that compared to regular editions, the paper has higher quality.

- Its a bigger edition, so the panels are bigger, like the Kanzenban. Not sure if they are the same size or not, though.

- However, it has toned down dialogue and some visual edits like some of the regular editions. Its nothing major, though.

- As of now its unknown if the Vizbig edition will have the extra panels and exclusive end that the kanzenban had. It is possible since its obvious that Viz has some access to the kanzenban release because they are using the kanzenban color pages. Also the Rurouni Kenshin Vizbig edition final volume has already been anounced with the statement that it will have extra material never before seen in English. So those extras from the Kanzenban are possible, but not probable. Don`t keep your hopes up. Still its one more possible element from the Kanzenban, if it happens.

So, in conclusion, the Vizbig edition of Dragon Ball is a quasi or pseudo Kanzenban release. Its not perfect, and a true Kanzenban release would be great... But to make up for it, its very cheap. Much cheaper than a Kanzenban release would be probably. And its even much cheaper than the regular release.
