I own all of the Double Features, and have seen some of the DBox movie singles in action. I am satisfied with the Double Features, but if FUNi releases the Movies DBox at a cheaper price, I'll definitely try to pick it up (at the very least for the "stereo" audio for the Japanese track.)
Nothing matters (in a cosmic sense.) Have a good time.

I also have all the remastered double feature steelbooks, and while the quality isnt bad, an upgrade to a domestic Dragon Box release of the movies wouldn't hurt, and I enjoy the Dragon Box colors of the show more than the remastered colors, so yes I would upgrade if FUNi did release a Dragon Box The Movies, and I would love it if they had Chris Sabat do an awesome trailer where he says "Ze Movies!" like the original trailer.

What?

That's not iffy at all. FUNi's release of Movie 2 has an issue with the opening where a black bar appears at different points. Though DB Movie 2 had awful quality all together in FUNi's release.

...I'm not sure why, but something about that comparison doesn't add up. Not the comparison itself, but the alignment of the DBox compared to FUNi's release. Is the FUNi release zoomed in, or is the DBox centered slightly lower? Or is it both? o_O

Try looking real hard at them, something doesn't add up. :|

FUNi's masters are more often than not always zoomed in.

True, but if you look at where the black bars line up with the zoomed image, the DBox's alignment is a bit off. Like the top of the screen would show more if the bars weren't there, and the bottom showing less as well. I just think it's curious. :|

Keep in mind that Toei pulled the original 35mm (in the case of the movies) prints and did new component masters. It's the same image, but it's not. If that makes any sense. ;p

It does, honestly. :] But what bugs me is where the bottom of the screen went, especially if they were using the original prints. O_o

It's probably my lack of sleep and having visited my parents in Fairfax earlier (which is always mentally draining), but...I'm not sure I get your question. They shifted the image down, to avoid cutting off half of Yamcha's head and most of Puar's, but...that's just framing. Or am I missing your point?

Well, if it's just framing, then that makes the most sense and I'll leave it at that. I'll quit being a pest.

And when you say Fairfax...that doesn't happen to be Fairfax, VA...does it? I live about ten or so minutes from there...

Ayup. We've talked on AIM before and you asked me then too, ages ago. I recall because I think it's the only time someone from DaizEX I'm'd me about this area. Azure Knight or summit? I work in Fairfax, but live in Woodbridge. I'm all over NoVA.

Glad I could help though. Now for precious sleep...

I know this is the "Double Features," vs Dragon Box thread but how about so blu ray shots, maybe some double feature/dragon box vs blu ray comparison shots.
I wanted a mission, and for my sins, they gave me one.

You already asked that question in another recent thread. You don't need to bump a year old thread to repeat yourself.
