The specials chapters are basically filler. They give the authors the chance to write and draw the pages of the main story without having to make a forceful break in the release schedule of the pages, now or in the near future, due to lack of time (since the manga is done in their free time).
Senzu_Bean wrote: Yep, there is. Without it you would have three weeks(?) without any update.
Maybe they wouldn`t have to do a break right away but they might have to do it in the near future.

The specials (the filler) prevent that from happening, at least in the near future (unless something unexpected happens).

Okay... NOW I agree the artwork sucks. Are the 'ripped paper' drawings super-imposed on his right elbow and left ab+left upper arm supposed to imply that he's so powerful it ripped the page or something?

I wonder if that's as powerful as this Trunks gets.

No... The transformation ripped apart his jacket.

The art might not be awesome but it improved.

Again with the stretching! :x

And Bulma looks awful in that panel...

Blegh.

At least Gothax has demonstrated that he can draw lots of jagged lines. Unless he traced THOSE from something too.

I think those lines can easily be done in Photoshop or Manga Studios. But hell, I could be wrong. The art work has improved some but not by much and I believe that's as powerful as Trunks can get. He's not going to be training much after this now that the Androids are dead.

Best page in the special in terms of the art, but Bulma looks retarded.

But still, two weeks and nothing has actually happened. I thought even filler was supposed to have a plot.

I thought Gothax was not drawing this special as he decided to take a hiatus from "drawing" according to his Deviantart journal.

Ohhhh . . . man, then this is not his best work for sure but it's "ok". Iv'e seen better work from him on his Deviantart page so I am geussing that it is lack of practice with the comic book format.

I believe that he might get Super Saiyan 2, if any one has any reason to train is Trunks. After what happened I'm sure he doesn't want to get caught in a doomsday situation again.

The stretching seems next to non-existent here. 16 looks weird in the bottom left panel, and also, why is (I'm assuming) Trunk's arm just laying there?! :?

If you mean in the next to last panel, it's no laying there. Trunks is leaning on the 'bed' that 16's laying on. The 'camera' is just sideways, making left and right look like up and down.

Is it just me, or does anyone else think #16 is scheming something?

"It would be a great pleasure!" must have more than one meaning here. Trunks has an "I'm gonna raep you!" face in the last panel too...
