Clinkenbeard's Gohan sounds great. Schemmel's Goku sounds like he finally understands how to portray the character for more than ten years. Cook's Raditz sounds as badass as ever, like most characters he voices. The dub's dialogue sounds spot-on and fits nicely with the music.

All in all, my hopes and expectations continue to be gleefully met so far. Can't wait to see more.

Mike McFarland sounds better as Roshi than usual to me. The new Bulma (it's Monica Rial right?) reminds me of the voice used in the original 13-episode dub of Dragon Ball. Her bitch-level went way up, I think I actually prefer Vollmer. Also, I noticed they called Ten Tienshinhan as if they hadn't tried to separate it as first and last name; I wonder if they're going to try and pass that off as his name. Would be a nice try.

I like Monica Rial's Bulma. It really does sound like Volmer, but better, like Chris Sabat said. No valley girl-ish voice. Colleen's Gohan is very cute.

Based on the other clips, I am now entirely sold on Colleen Clinkenbeard's Gohan. It is by far the best English voice for that role.

I'm digging Monica Rial's Bulma, too. And Sean Schemmel's Goku is definitely sounding better. But most importantly, the script is great.

Even Sabat's Piccolo is sounding a tad better.

Wow, I might actually like this dub!

Clinkenbeard was good and all, but she'll never hold a candle to Nadolny to me.
Yamcha: Do you remember the spell to release him - do you know all the words?
Bulma: Of course! I'm not gonna pull a Frieza and screw it up!

Sabat's Piccolo is a vast improvement in my eyes! He doesn't sound anywhere near as forced as he used to, and after Radditz left and he was struck with fear, he actually sounded out of breath, instead of making grunting sounds as he (and most of the rest of the cast) used to.

It'd be a pretty good compromise: Dub fans get Tien and Japanese fans get Tenshinhan in some form.

Well, the new clips have convinced me to buy Kai on Blu-ray.

DAMN YOU FUNIMATION!

EDIT: Am I the only one who thought Schemmel sounded like MasakoX at first in the new clip?

The problem is that's an extra syllable, and just sounds awkward. Maybe it's because I'm used to one or the other, though.

Wow. For the first time since the Ocean cast departed, I can truly say that I am pleased with the voicework I've heard so far. Clinkenbeard is the best Gohan so far, especially for these early episodes. Hope she can pull off the character once he starts fighting, but she definitely captures the cuteness and charm that Gohan had at the very beginning of the series. Rial reminds me quite a bit of Lalainia, and it's nice to see that the valley girl-ness is toned back. So, yeah, the voices seem pretty good.

The script, for the most part, seems fairly spot on too. Compared to previous FUNimation dubs of these lines of dialogues, it's nice that Gohan wants to be a scholar instead of an orthopedist (even though I always got a good chuckle out of the latter for some reason), and that Bulma asks about Lunch rather than whatever random crap she'd said before. My only nitpick is that FUNimation really seems to be playing up this revisionist Yamucha garbage that he's this supposed playboy. Unless I'm mistaken, the original just had Bulma bitch that she was pissed at him for no specific reason, but the dub almost makes it imply he's playing "Gotta catch 'em all" with every social disease in the Dragon World. And it doesn't help that Bulma referring to Muten Roshi as a dirty old pervert reminds Kuririn of Yamucha.

But other than that, this seems pretty promising. I'm impressed!

"T ien Shinhan" is a compromise, but I lived with it in the DB dub, I can live with it again, I guess. Other than that, the script seems pretty solid. I love how Roshi said something similar to "education-minded mama".

Did they say Launch or Lunch? I'm guessing the former, but I can't tell from the clip.

I dislike Rial's Bulma, she sounds like too much like a valley girl for me. I love McFarland's Roshi, I really can't imagine him being replaced. Same goes for Strait's Krillin. Sabat's Piccolo has really improved for me, he sounds less like Vegeta and more menacing.

Oh, and they used "Tien Shinhan" which doesn't bother me but they'll probably just use Tien sometimes too.

It was Tiffany Vollmer's that sounded valley girl. Monica Rial's sounds much less so, at least to my ears.

Sadly, they said Launch. Names are copyrighted.

There was something here about Tenshinhan's name and how it was butchered in the Ultimate Uncut shortly after they had used the compromise from this video, but the forum kept correcting me every time I typed the dub name, which made my post laughably repetitive.

Stupid. Get rid of it.

I prefer Rial's Bulma. It sounds a lot like the TFS Bulma, which is good.

Sounds more like an actual person, than an over the top nothing else to contribute "Valley Girl" character, like I thought Vollmer was.

When I heard it at the con, she didn't sound so much like Vollmer, but she does in the clip. Now I'm confused... I must be getting senile. Damn 21st birthday! Lol.
