Dabra v. SSJ Goku - Interesting match?

There might be a few exceptions, such as closeups, distant shots with little detail, or stylistically different auras entirely, but that's hardly what I was talking about. Every time Gohan had a clear, normal SSJ2 aura in that fight, there was lightning.

During the fight with Buu, directly following the "angry explosion", I believe.

I don't see it. Unless you mean the panel where he's getting caught in the explosion, but you can't even see if he has an aura in that one.

The anime may be less consistent, of course.

Goku is losing this battle, badly, because Dabura is > Cell (which has nothing to do with Gohan being SSJ 1 or 2 btw) and Goku can't even beat a suppressed one.

Also, SSJ chibi Gohan is nowhere near full powered Cell. Goku knows full well about his son's power and thinks the only way to win is if Gohan gets pissed (before even seeing Cell revealing his true power). So no way SSJ teen Gohan can match Dabura now that he's even weaker than he was as a kid.

So would SSJ Goku vs Dabura make an interesting fight? Nope. This Goku's surpassed the Gohan of old, so he would kick Dabura's ass too easily.

No, he wouldn't, and SSJ Goku didn't surpass the Gohan of old either.
