What if they got Kageyama to sing the English version of one of the insert songs? :D

I BET JEICE WILL BE MEXICAN. And Recoome will be voiced by Chuck Norris.

This thread has now reached all levels of epic.

We already know from first-hand accounts from the cons that Tenshinhan will be called "Tien Shinhan", and that both Freeza and Kaio's voices haven't changed.

We're being teased with some inside info that *something* in the dub of Kai has been changed in such a way from the original dubs that will make us happy. In fact, we're told that one of these changes will make us REALLY happy.

Among the most common guesses are:

-Using the Son family name
-Some secondary character has a new voice which totally rocks
-More Japanese attack names being used (but there's really not many left that weren't already used in the old dub)

"Son" being used, and not only that, but being used appropriately by certain characters, would sell it for me. We already know they're pronouncing Kaio-ken correctly, and they're using Kienzan and Makkankosappo. We saw the cast list already, and know the major characters are getting their same voices back, minus the replacements we already know about for Gohan, Bulma, Chaozu, and Pu-erh.

So what could it be....

Did they redraw Goku as a gangsta?

Have they shown this in a video?

Schemmel said so, and he said that he refused to pronounce it incorrectly.

We know they're using Makankosappo (not Special Beam Cannon or Demon Piercing Light Killing Gun :P) because it was shown in episode 1 that premiered at Sakura Con which I think is still on YouTube.

We know they're using Kienzan because Chris Sabat said so on his Facebook. (I think he's the voice director or something).

Something that everyone in the fandom would love? I'm an everyone, and about the only thing that could get me to care at all about the dub is if Sabat, Schemmel, and Young were all replaced, and that's obviously not going to happen.

Other than that, does the set come with a free Dragon Box or something? Preferably one I don't own yet?

They would be stupid to use anything other that 8000.
It is supposed to be an accurate translation this time.
Who cares about that old joke now?

I think they'll put the "over 9000" line as an extra on one of the DVDs.

This is really exciting. The last dub thing I watched was like the Buu saga in 2002. Looking forward to it.

The possibility of that are small
I hope they included a small book in the BD and DVD case

I think Sean Schemmel stated on his Facebook page that there are no extras on the DVDs, he confirmed it as he got his own copy.

Ohhhh a big mystery eh? Well considering the way RightStuff sends out its DVDs/Blu-Rays, they should start sending their orders out by the end of this week. You won't be waiting much longer if you ordered from them. Well, that's how they do it with One Piece anyway.

By the way, if you UKers want to actually purchase this series at a cheap price, playusa has the both sets for £17.99 each with free shipping. Since that's just 1 penny below the import tax limit, you won't be charged extra. So you want to get Kai on Blu-Ray for less than £18, here's the link: http://www.playusa.com/DVD/Region_1/3-/ ... oduct.html

Thanks for the info, I can pre-order Dragon Ball Z Kai now! :)
