Nope, not about Dragonball. I was intensely defensive in gradeschool (awful fucking place, other kids would rip me about it simply because it was me, not so much because of the show) but never embarrassed. I'd do doodles all the time: on my folders, my copybooks, my homework, my notes, my backpack.... Never tried to hide it.

A lot of my friends would actually find Roshi's antics to be pretty funny, so I wouldn't be emarrassed at all.

I would never deny my interest in the series, and while I don't openly try to out myself as a fan, I do quite often draw DBZ at school. I try to hide it, but when it is seen I normally get more praise than ridicule anyway.

I'm not all too embarrassed becasue of the fact that I'm a fan, but I would be quite embarrassed if people knew the extreme degree to which I am a fan. This is the reason I refrain form getting into conversations about the show in public places, as I would simply get too carried away, and my reverence of the series would instantly be made known.

I never could get my best friend to do the fusion dance with me (even in elementary school).

I've had people walk in during the pervy moments of most anime, it's a strange coincidence... or maybe it's a curse...?

I would too XD

Rock the Dragon was awesome!
Copy that! I always hated that theme. It sounded like two constipated guys.

It always depend on what's on when I'm watching Dragonball. Especially the English dub. The musically score wasn't the best (Not including Rock the Dragon, that was awesome!) and when you have friends who are really into music, it's kinda hard not to feel a little embarrassed. And don't get me started on the voice acting, which I liked but I have to admit that sometimes it was really unbearable to listen to let alone watch.

Today I watch DB shamelessly, well that's at least until I start watching Kai this May.

Not unless you just rewind and watch the pervy moments over and over again like I do. Then you're bond to get caught with your pants down.

Are you talking about the intro or the actually show? Maybe both?

Never. If anything, I boast about my fandom. My friends are all aware of the love I have for this show. Heck, the past few shirts I've bought of Dragon Ball are about to be displayed proudly in public by me next time I go out with them.

However...I am a bit nervous wearing Anime apparel to my Japanese class, and that's the one place where there are actually anime-lovers. ...but I feel like a weeaboo when I do....and that is one thing that Big Momma of Daizenshuu EX is not.

Never been ashamed to watch it. I love it, plus I have no shame.
Oh, you think the Grand Tour is your ally, you merely stepped into the Grand Tour. I was born in it, moulded by it. I didn’t see the Super until I was already a man; by then, it was nothing to me but blinding!

That makes Rock the Dragon look like an awesome song. :P

On Topic: Have I ever been embarrassed when someone sees me watching DBZ? Of course, it's a childrens show and I'm nearly a legal adult. :P

I was never particularly teased or made fun of for simply liking Dragonball... it was always more along the lines of getting roasted by people (mostly family and close friends who would be there when I was watching it) for watching it in Japanese rather than English. Since learning Japanese I rarely use subtitles to watch DB or Z anymore and now all I really catch from others is an eyebrow-raising quasi-admiration that I can fluently understand a television program in a foreign language. I get even stranger "WTF?" looks from family at Christmas time when I do my annual re-read of the manga. Bought the full 42 books in Japanese at a convention about six or seven years ago, and occasionally someone will look over my shoulder and see that what I'm reading isn't English. I get some kicks from it, not gonna lie.

Never embarrassed though. I've been around DB forever it seems like.

Nope. I don't bring Dragonball up unless its to people that watch it. I was sitting at a table at lunch one time, and the kids had all these Dragonball quizes. I raped it. I was like the main characters off of DBZ are (yes I do use their JPN names) Son Goku, Yamcha, Kuririn, Tenshinhan, Chaozu, Piccolo, Son Gohan, Vegeta, Trunks(kid), and Son Goten. One of the kids could of sworn the first main villain was Garlic Jr, and I told him that was Empereor Pilaf. Its one of those great moments being a DBZ nerd. I remember this kid would quiz this one kid on DBZ, and I would give him answers. Like who is the purple guy that Vegeta hates so much and I said Freeza.

At my Life Science, a kid was wearing a DBZ shirt, and people began talking about how they love DBZ.

I have been embarrassed watching DBZ because I like the Japanese dub. To avoid hearing shit from my family I wear headphones. My sister once looked over my shoulder while I was reading the Dragonbook and I was on the fashion check page. She saw the pic of Bulma in her underwear and said, "What are you looking at?" My mom once caught me looking at an ecchi pic of Videl and Chichi. I turned off my PS3 and ran into my room and shut the door . Yesterday, I was watching some of the Dragonbox and my sister walked in on the part of the fake Namek episodes where Gohan is under Krillin's lap.

Oh yeah, cause people kill each other with magic fireballs in Spongebob Squarepants, don't they. DB wasn't made entirely for kids

I'm (most likely, though it hasn't been established) the youngest person here, I'm 15. There are a shitload of people on this board, and none if not few are children.

That just makes us oldies (happy birthday to me) emotionally-arrested man-children, rather than raising the status of Dragon Ball to fine adult-centered art.
