What is this song?

Post by Leotaku » Thu Apr 28, 2005 1:47 pm

Ahoy.
I found this midi file a long time ago. It's listed as a Vegeta theme, and I was wondering if anyone knew where it came from? I'm curious as to what the original sounds like, not in midi format. So if I had a title to go with this song, it'd be easier to track down. :P

I've never heard it before. As far as I know it's not from any of the image albums, though it sounds a bit like it could be something composed by MONOLITH. My guess is that it's possibly from a video game.
Jerseymilk: "Can I tell you something?"
B-kun: "What?"
Jerseymilk: "I see Fangirls."

I'm not really sure...

Once the "bass" instrument comes in, it sounds like it wants to be Vegeta's Super Butoden 1 theme, but it's not all that close. Sounds more like an original piece, than anything else.

That's too bad. I really like it.
I think I've found on at least 2 separate occasions on a site, listed as a Vegeta song, but have had no luck tracking down an original, non midi version.
But, thanks anyway. :P

I remember a piece titled "Vegeta & Bulma Romantic Theme" that kinda-sorta resembled this one, but I don't think that's it, the similarity is too vague. Besides, I'm not even sure that this "Romantic Theme" itself is really from DBZ.

I think you're referring to "KOI NO NAZONAZO" from the Hit Kyoku Shuu 8 1/2. In the booklet from the 3-CD album "Complete Song Collection", it says that the music is Vegeta and Bulma's love song or something.

I've never heard any music that resembled that midi, but I like it a lot.

Ya but "KOI NO NAZONAZO" doesn't sound anything like that piece. :?

OK, I've found one the site that I got it from. Here:
http://www.angelfire.com/anime3/sojakak ... music.html

It says "Vegeta's Theme (Prince of Saiyans)"

I'm not sure if "Prince of Saiyans" is supposed to be the title or what. So I looked for a song or mp3 with that name, and came up with this from a winamp playlist:
881. Bruce Faulconer - Dragonball Z Trunks Compendium I - 03 - Prince Of Saiyans.mp3

I don't think this is a Bruce Faulconer song though. So then I found a download of all the Bruce Faulconer songs from all the discs that were released. I downloaded the song, and it wasn't the same.
And damn, it's annoying searching for a song called "Prince of Saiyans" since that's also what Vegeta is often referred to himself. :?

Not sure about this one either, but it sounds nice though. :)
This one is also called The Price Of The Saiyans:

This one's also original work, I think.

I think it's an incorrect title and that's part of the problem with identifying it. It happens all the time unfortunately with sites that don't bother to have correct information.

Yeah. Actually, I'm still not sure if they meant that to be the title of the song or not. I emailed the person, they said they weren't sure where it came from either. They guessed that it might be from Final Bout, but I have the game, and it's not from there as far as I know.

The midi itself says (C) 1993, so it's probably from an uber-obscure video game or something.

Two seconds into the song and I reconized it. ^^ I love that MIDI, but I don't know what the song is called or where it is from. I, too, would suggest it's one of Monolithe's songs.

Oh, it's not:
-Ai no BARAADO no You ni - Bejita no Teema
-Bejita-sama no Oryouri Jigoku - Okonomiyaki no Saki
-Jan Janka My Way

"Jan Janka My Way" I've tried by looking at the lyrics with the MIDI, but I'm not sure because I've never heard the actual song. (I'm convinced the lyrics don't fit, though.)

But there's been a ton of DBZ character theme songs. They're probably for the old games you would play back when DBZ was in the arcades. . .

Thanks for clearing that up, since I wasn't sure; only a partially educated thought.

ThunderPX: Where did you see the copyright?

veshira: Agh. Too bad. Everyone says they like it, but no one knows what it is. :P Yeah, I've heard the original Jan Janka My Way, it's not that.

VegettoEX: I guess that includes the arcade games too?

Blast! If it's not from any game, what the hell is it?

I wonder, since no one seems to know, if it could be some lesser-known dub version's theme of Vegeta or something. Like how Funimation's dub has different music from the original Japanese one. But I don't know if other dubs had their own music or kept the original.

It's not from the Ocean Group dub, I'm almost sure of that

It's not Jan Janka My Way. I own that song. It's not any of the songs on any of the hit collections.
