I really can't take that comment seriously because of all the bad grammar and horribly rushed lines in the Big Green dub.

When something that flawed beats Funimation, it says a lot about Funimation, right?
I prefer rushed lines to Funimation's choice of VA's. In fact, I believe that the VA's in the Big Green dub were more fitting to their characters than Funimation's in the same movie. And the Big Green dub isn't alone in being criticized for it's delivery of lines. Search YouTube, and you'll find a lot of criticism and parody regarding Funimation's lines (examples are the "Over 9000" and the "You Understaaaaand" by Vegeta).
And if you can't take my comment seriously, well, why are you taking it seriously by replying to it? Aren't you doing the opposite to what you should do in such a situation?

The difference is that the FUNimation dub has a massive fanbase, while the Big Green dub has virtually none at all.

Which FUNimation dub are you referring to? You see, FUNimation dubbed that movie twice. Once with the Ocean studios cast and again with their in-house cast. The dub with the Ocean studios cast has received a lot of praise and acclaim.

I don't deny that the FUNimation dub gets criticized, but the Big Green dub gets mocked and criticized much more. Examples of criticized lines from the Big Green dub include: "let that child alone", "Gohan's crystal balls", "come magic cloud" and "it's Big Green". I really can't take a dub seriously that calls the son of the great demon king, "Big Green".

Do you live in the area where that dub was produced and talk often with those types of fans? Do you know for a fact that there is virtually no fanbase for it, rabid or otherwise? Have you considered the relative populations of where each dub was distributed?

You can answer with more questions all you want, but you ask the wrong questions so you can frame your own viewpoint as "the answer". That's just poor arguing.

The script is kind of/sort of decent in the Big Green dub (except for inaccuracies like "Big Green and Goku were once one" that make Funimation's worst lines seem unfettered), and Kami does sound kind of bad-ass when he says, "I think you'll find it's harder than you think to kill a god," but it's just objectively bad. Funimation's got some real shit from its first two seasons, but the acting here is so much objectively worse than either the Ocean or Funimation dub of the movie that praising it on anything other than the very basic concepts of voices or script is like walking into a room full of critics and loudly proclaiming your love for the Epic Movie series. It's just ... wrong.

Big Green Roshi sounds like fucking Season Three King Kai! Sancho sounds like Peewee Herman! The scripts are pretty bad too. The old Pioneer dub was much more accurate, and FUNi's redub was as well.

I really doubt that there are so many people that hate Funimation's dub to be honest. It's just that some people prefer a certain amount of quality, and it's all our rights to be critics without having to be called deaf/blind/stupid/haters ect.

I don't see the need for me to sugarcoat everything to fans who are sensitive about their dub, though. I'll still be straight forward. If you can't take some honest critisism, what are you doing in a forum to begin with?

Let me get this straight with you, I'm not a dub fan. I enjoy parts of their dub, like Z Kai and the first three movies. I just don't see how there's any comparison between the FUNimation/Ocean dub of movie 1 and the Big Green dub of movie 1. While the Big Green dub of movie 1 is accurately translated, it is plagued with poor usage of grammar and rushed, awkward lines. Okay yes, the FUNimation/Ocean dub of movie 1 isn't perfect; it has it's flaws and inaccuracies. However, I would classify it as a "good dub", which is more than I can say for the Big Green dub of movie 1.
