I know the Dance of Joy was, but during it did he say something along the lines of "Feel the joy!" in the Japanese one?Puto wrote:The dance of joy thing was in the jpn version, yeah. No, I don't think so.

Re: "DragonBall Z Kai" TV Broadcast Talkback
Here are the lines in the jp version:
F: Magnificent, Ginyû-san. I would not have expected you to bring me all seven Dragon Balls so quickly. It was worth it to call in the Ginyû Special Corps, all right.
G: It gives me, Ginyû, no greater joy than to have you say so, Freeza-sama.
F: This means I am about to acquire eternal life. What wonderful joy.
G: If you would like, shall I dance the dance of joy?
F: P-Perhaps you could do that next time.
G: Really?
F: Who would have thought the immortal youth I dreamed about would come true? Even I, of all people, am starting to get excited.
G: The birth of the perfect and everlasting ruler of the universe is about to happen, isn't that right?
F: Now, Dragon Balls, give me, Freeza-sama, eternal life and youth!
...and it goes on

I don't see the big stink about it either, the "Jock having fun" is coming through to me. Some of the laughing is a little annoying, but kind of in a amusing way this time around, it's toned the hell down from Z anyway. Meh, Jpn Z: semi-smart jock/ Kai dub: dumb jock, Chris's Kai version certainly has more character than the generic Japanese Kai voice that Reacome had.Piccolo Daimaoh wrote:I quite like Recoom's Z Kai voice. Now that his retardedness has been toned down, I've got no issues with it.

Did anyone notice that Dragon Soul didn't change over to the 2nd animation because according to Kanzentai episode 30 is the first to do so.

People can talk about how Reacoom is toned down all they want, but he's still annoying as crap to me...
Re: "DragonBall Z Kai" TV Broadcast Talkback
I'm not surprised, the editing is so lazy on the condensed TV versions of the opening and endings. Whoever was in charge of that phoned it in big time, no visual flow with the lyrics at all.DB_Fan1991 wrote:Did anyone notice that Dragon Soul didn't change over to the 2nd animation because according to Kanzentai episode 30 is the first to do so.
Really, he wasn't exactly a pleasant fellow in Japanese either. Other than the hauahaahuauauh chuckling Sabat does, the talking voice is so toned down that I honestly don't get what the big deal is.Mountain wrote:People can talk about how Reacoom is toned down all they want, but he's still annoying as crap to me...

Re: "DragonBall Z Kai" TV Broadcast Talkback
Why does everyone assume that because one dislikes an English voice, that they automatically love the Japanese counterpart? When I read the manga, I don't really hear either voice, to be honest. It's not that the voice is necessarily a problem for the character, but it annoys me to no end, anyways. Haha. Still, nothing is worse than Kaio.MR.Mark wrote:Really, he wasn't exactly a pleasant fellow in Japanese either. Maybe because when a fan complains about a English voice, 99% of the time that's the actual reason.Mountain wrote:

So you just don't like the voice period, fair enough then.

Haha. Well, I guess you're right to some extent. That's not me; I don't nearly like every Japanese voice, although it is my preferred version. =PMR.Mark wrote:Maybe because when a fan complains about a English voice, 99% of the time that's the actual reason.Mountain wrote:

Re: "DragonBall Z Kai" TV Broadcast Talkback
I watched the episode where Vegeta fights ReaCoom on Nicktoons last night. In terms of casual viewing and just having some fun, it was a great episode as always. My nitpicky nerd side thought a few things were off, though. Mostly how certain things were worded. Not a big deal, though.
Also, I can't wait for tonight's episode. It's the Kai version of the first episode I ever saw.

Yeah, I'm excited as well. I wanted to finally see this portion of the series with a full re-dub. Several actors (including Schemmel) didn't come back after the first two seasons were re-dubbed, so that did have an effect on the re-dubbing. So, this is their shot to give it a whole new performance. I really want to see how the SSJ scene will go...
As long as they avoid making Goku not being redubbed in the third season a running joke (i.e. cutting and pasting old Z dub audio in), I'll be fine.

Trust me, they wanted to have him come back. For one reason or another (I've heard a few) he didn't, though.

Hmmmm... I really hope they update the opening for the TV version sooner or later. Maybe they're waiting for the Super Saiyan transformation to occur. Wouldn't want to spoil the golden hair for casual newcomers.DB_Fan1991 wrote:Did anyone notice that Dragon Soul didn't change over to the 2nd animation because according to Kanzentai episode 30 is the first to do so.

Oh, yeah, I still have those painful memories too, but I forgot that this was right around the part of the story that happened.Metalwario64 wrote:Well, I was jokingly referring to the rerun hell the Ocean dub broadcast was caught in.

Because Sean Schemmel lives in New York now, and they or him didn't feel it was worth to fly over to Texas just to re-record Season 3 lines.Kendamu wrote:Mewzard wrote:Yeah, I'm excited as well. A job's a job. They still would've probably paid him more than he got paid doing bit roles in TMNT.Ishtar318 wrote:Because Sean Schemmel lives in New York now, and they or him didn't feel it was worth to fly over to Texas just to re-record Season 3 lines.Kendamu wrote:Mewzard wrote:Yeah, I'm excited as well. Wouldn't this have been around the time he was actually playing a major villain on TMNT though? He was probably doing okay, plus the constant stream of DBZ games.Kendamu wrote:A job's a job. They still would've probably paid him more than he got paid doing bit roles in TMNT.
