Was there ever an African dub of DBZ?
According to a part of the Dragon Book included with the Dragon Box, which listed the countries where DBZ has aired, it listed South Africa as one of them. Does anyone know if an African dub was made of DBZ, or did South Africa just air the dub from another country?
A "rather haggard" translation of a line from Future Gohan in DBZ, provided to FUNimation by Toei:
"To think of fighting that is this fun...so, it was pleasant fight, as many as, therefore is a feeling which is good the fight where."

Soppa Saiyjins from Dorgou Ballru Zetto is my favorite transformation everah, especially when Trounksoru did it in front of Seru and when Bejita did it when he faced Jingonigen-hachigo. But for real, I use the FUNi pronunciation. - Soppa Saia People

Fixed.AnimeMaakuo wrote:AFRICAN DUB?! Do WANT!!!

A Dragon Ball/Urusei Yatsura crossover would be awesome.
Having Toshio Furukawa balance between Piccolo and Ataru would be hilarious.

That actually sounds interesting.

I think they just got FUNimation's dub. I doubt they did an Afrikaans or Zulu dub.

I think Egypt has its own dub, unfortunately I don't have any sources for this, so it might just be my imagination, but I'm pretty sure some contries in Africa has DBZ dubs.

I know DBZ has an Arabic dub, but I always thought the Arabic dub (which originated in Saudi Arabia if I'm not mistaken) was just distributed to the other Arabic-speaking countries.sangofe wrote:I think Egypt has its own dub, unfortunately I don't have any sources for this, so it might just be my imagination, but I'm pretty sure some contries in Africa has DBZ dubs.
Damn, now I really want to know if there's an African dub or not!

Likely not. They don't usually dub in African languages. The only exception was Disney's The Lion King in Zulu, so it's unlikely that DBZ was dubbed into Zulu or any other African language.TheBlackPaladin wrote:I know DBZ has an Arabic dub, but I always thought the Arabic dub (which originated in Saudi Arabia if I'm not mistaken) was just distributed to the other Arabic-speaking countries.sangofe wrote:I think Egypt has its own dub, unfortunately I don't have any sources for this, so it might just be my imagination, but I'm pretty sure some contries in Africa has DBZ dubs.

There is a Arabic dub, though not very good. And it doesn't span over the whole series, but I heard they were dubbing more soon.Cowboy Dev wrote:Paging SHINOBI-03, your needed on thread 83278904210.
A friend on my PSN list speaks Arabic and watches DBZ, but Shinobi does seem to be the only definite source on what's truly going on with the Arabic dub.
