I used to think the weaker the Saiyan the stronger the Super Saiyan.

I used to think Janemba was Coola. I'd never seen him until I bought the movie, and I had never heard the name Janemba before. I just assumed he was Coola because he was purpleish and alienish.

I used to think GT Vegeta was Gohan, based on the hair.

I used to think Goku and Vegeta just had to be related somehow or another.

I used to Broly would be a damn badass character. The person who told me about random obscure DBZ shit 11 years ago said that Broly was in two movies and he wished for immortality from the dragon balls and he had to be blown into the sun to have every molecule incinerated for him to die. Totally a mix of other DBZ movies, but oh well... It made for some hella fun "action-figure time".

I believed him because he had the aol, and he put DBZ pics on floppies for me so I could draw on them in paint on my super-duper Windows 3.11 computer (where I'd use Dragonball names on my Oregon Trail characters). Urr... Good times?

Back when Buu era action figures were available in stores, but Toonami was nowhere near Buu, my dad assumed that Goten was Gohan's son.

Back in the days I followed DBZ on tv and wasn't a netizen.

So when my brother (who was a netizen) told me, during the Frieza Saga, that Goku will become a Super Saiyan...I thought he was joking. I mean really....

Saiyan + Superman = Super Saiyan ?!.....that's just ridiculous.

When Z finished airing in the Netherlands I was collecting Dragonball pogs.
I knew there was a story before Z and that the Budokai Tenkaichi played a big role in it.

So when I saw a pog with Satan holding a championsbelt in the air I assumed he was one of the villains in Dragonball.
He just looked a bit untrustworthy to me at the time.

But at least I was half right, I mean the guy is a liar.

One of those lighter was that I thought that Vegeta is also Goku's brother because of his face and hair design simmilar to Raditz but with shorter hair.

Then I saw Trunks, Goten, Vegeta, Goku, Gohan going SSJ. I never saw the show with Super Saiyans before, only the first non-Z portion, so I tought (assumption based on the shonen series I saw before) that it's natural skill obtained after some time, so I waited for Krillin, Yamcha and Piccolo to get their blond hair transformation form.

I thought that Mystic Gohan is someone else then normal Gohan and that Veggeto (I missed the Potara fusion episode) is Gohan's transformed state in ''tokusatsu style''

I assumed that the series was based around time travel since I saw a few Buu episodes with little Trunks and Goten and adult Goku, a GT episode with adult Trunks and little Goku and a Dragon Ball episode with just little Goku

I admit that last bit confuses me. Since Vegeta isn't in that movie at all, how exactly was it that that movie changed your opinion of him?

Oh man, one I can think of off the top of my head would be that I believed that the different incarnations of Buu, were brothers. I used to even call them the "Buu Brothers". Whenever I mentioned the "Buu Brothers" back then people would think I was talking about Scooby Doo.

But some of the best "ASSumptions" I've heard weren't ones I thought of but ones people would tell me when I was 10 and 11 years old. I remember this friend I had, would tell me all sorts of weird stuff, like there were 10 levels of super saiyan, and a red haired "mega saiyan" after that. He also told me there were two more series after GT, called DBQT, and DBX. Then another friend of mine told me that Buu made Cell and sent Cell back in time to kill Goku. Cell going back in time did happen but I wonder where he got the idea that Buu made him?

Not dumb at all. He has Goku´s kindness/power and some of Bulma´s technology knowledge. It´s very plausible.

Here in the UK when CNX started advertising for the release of GT, they had a really bad promo of Goku standing besides Vegeta at SSJ4. The narrator (in his incredibly deep voice, prolonging his words, with pauses inbetween) said something like,

'' Years after ''Zeee''... GT takes you to the future!'' and that was it.

With the new look animation, and the darker colours, I thought Dragonball GT was some kind of Gundam. I knew GT was short compared to Dragonball & Dragonball Z, and the promo had a green looking sky, with Vegeta and Goku as SSJ 4's smiling. This led me to beleive GT was a series about the descendants of Goku and Vegeta, who have traveled to Namek looking for Dragonball's, and that there must be a problem with the climate, because they were both wearing fur.
