Re: "Raging Blast 2" Pre-Release Discussion
I was just about to check out that Battle of Omega video, but I changed my mind. If it's a good one, I want to first experience it after bringing home my clean new copy, so I can enjoy it like it was meant to be.
Yo! Cal's the name. Nice to meet you!

It's just the song lol and I am sure the opening won't be the whole song. No video to speak of just audio and a cool picture.Kingdom Heartless wrote:I was just about to check out that Battle of Omega video, but I changed my mind. Cool. I would say that it's my second favourite DB game theme song. I liked Burst Limit's better.SuperSaiyan3Goku wrote:Here's "Battle of Omega" full version, just in case anyone wants to listen:

Re: "Raging Blast 2" Pre-Release Discussion
For sure the only thing worth on this game is the inclusion of Dore and Neiz.
Re: "Raging Blast 2" Pre-Release Discussion
To anyone who has an xbox 360, do you have the demo yet?
Re: "Raging Blast 2" Pre-Release Discussion
The demo is out on the 360 (UK). I just played it now, it's a lot better than RB1.
I played as Goku and and lost to Gohan. Then played as Kid Buu and beat Dabura! Time to play some more...

Re: "Raging Blast 2" Pre-Release Discussion
Played a few quick rounds last night. General thoughts:
- Weird that the German (well, probably entire-European) demo comes with the FUNimation English voices with no selectable option.
- Love that "Battle of Omega" plays when you go into Raging Soul(?) mode. I have a feeling this is going to get pretty old pretty fast, though. Initially I thought it only did so when you went into that mode at low-health -- that, perhaps, would have been a more suitable way to do it.
- Can already tell the camera is vastly improved. It felt very much like METEOR again.
- Still not liking controlling the character with the analog stick and special moves with the other analog stick. They're still over-doing it with "simplified" controls that totally gets contradicted with the bazillion other things that you can do offensively and defensively.
- Speaking of which, it seems like you have a lot more options in both areas. Maybe I just didn't get "good enough" at the first Raging Blast, but while I acknowledged that it gave some new options there, I'm feeling like there are EVEN MORE in this new one. I don't think I made any sense on this point. Whatever.
- Rushing in from far away toward your opponent felt off. I never felt like I was "stopping" in the right place in relation to where they were situated. I think I had this problem with the first game. Back in METEOR, I felt like I always had very natural control about when I would stop flying and just how close to them I would be when I did stop. Difficult to describe.
- Not feeling the graphics at all. Too lifeless, shiny, etc. Add whatever other qualifiers here you want and have probably read elsewhere. It doesn't "feel" like the anime or the manga looking like this. I don't mind a fresh take at all, but this, in my view, was not the right direction to go in. It's certainly acceptable, but it's not my favorite and I'm disappointed.
- Music seems all right so far. Only two tracks to speak of, really. The one on the ice stage was the better of the two.
- Background levels seem detailed enough. None of the fights I had thwapped anyone around through the environments enough to really talk about.
- I was too busy doing the actual fighting, but did I see it written as "Demon King Dabra" (note the exclusion of a "u" in that there name) when he talks aloud mid-fight...? Do you guys 'n gals get this spelling over in Europe? Neato. Am I seeing what I want to see? Also neato.
- Meri commented on how awkward Goku's profile picture on the character select screen looked. I somewhat agree. Something off about the way his head is placed in relation to the rest of his body.
Oh, did Japan get their demo, too...? I'll download that one, instead

Yeah he is just called Dabra here in Germany. They also said "Dämonenkönig" aka. Demon King to him in the anime.VegettoEX wrote: - I was too busy doing the actual fighting, but did I see it written as "Demon King Dabra" (note the exclusion of a "u" in that there name) when he talks aloud mid-fight...? BT3 off meds | The final fight
Ah, the Alpha and the Omega. As all life was created from Chaos...so shall it be DESTROYED!!!
The wails of machines | Singing cold harmony | Shifting air upward | Entranced by the breeze | Light pours like blood | Into a cosmic sea | Of stars crystallized | In a frozen symphony

Seriously? I love these graphics and I certainly feel like the characters have more life than previously. I loved how Goku's hair glowed, it's so subtle but a perfect addition. I really hope they keep this style for RB3 because even Buu just looks 10x cooler in these graphics. I know it's opinion and I get that people want it to look like the anime but come on how does somebody look at these graphics and not find them gorgeous?VegettoEX wrote: - Not feeling the graphics at all. If Spike wants to add life to the characters, how about less looped animations. Especially talking/mouth-flaps. Their mouths just move up and down and up and down. No variation.

Yea their mouths have always just flapped around.(this is mainly for the voice syncing) Heck look at the anime they did the same. Everybody looks great in the new graphics. Just my opinion but I hope they don't change it back to cell shaded style. It just seems like the RB graphics are attractive now.Innagadadavida wrote:I think they look more lifeless. Re: "Raging Blast 2" Pre-Release Discussion
Played it some more and I think this is now going to be a definite pass.
I was so excited for this game and it's turned out to be a total let down in every way for me, which is a real shame.
The controls feel awkward to me (to me, so no one need to tell me i'm 'wrong') and the combat feels unresponsive overall.
The stages, while being rather large are forgettable and don't have many stand out features as the old games did; they're just a bit generic really.
The animation is good but the effects are poor; the smoke and dust looks okay at best but the energy attacks and beams look underpowered, the lack of effects during combat also makes it feel underpowered, which is a shame...
Looks like I'll most likely end up skipping anything Spike does this generation; as much as I love DBZ, I'm not wasting my money on a game that feels (to me) broken and no fun.

Re: "Raging Blast 2" Pre-Release Discussion
I was disappointed from the demo overall. I really wish they would let you use the D-Pad to control your character rather then the analog stick. I also found the computer to be relentless so it was hard to try to learn any new moves. Just like Raging Blast 1 I didn't like the controls much of this game either. (just based on the demo).
The music I guess was alright but I didn't really care for it that much.
I did like the graphics though in the game and thought they looked really nice for the game. It seems like they upgraded them from Raging Blast 1.
I will still rent this game though just to see Plan to Eradicate the Super Saiyans but I will definitely not be buying this game.

@VegettoEX
No DBZ game feels like the anime so that's not a great point.
It also pisses me off that everyone wants a game thats simpler, yet when they get it, they all complain about it, and then when we get a complex game, everybody says its too hard. Obviously, this game takes a while to learn. It took me 2 days and I haven't even learned all the moves yet.
My friend is an avid fighting game addict, and he hasn't even learned all the combos.

Re: "Raging Blast 2" Pre-Release Discussion
I didn't say "feels" anywhere in there in relation to the gameplay -- I was talking strictly visuals compared to visuals. In that respect, the first Raging Blast did a better job, and I would have preferred an evolution of that over what is presented to me in the sequel.Bardo117 wrote:No DBZ game feels like the anime so that's not a great point.
Who is this "everyone" you're talking about? Are you just mis-interpreting what I said again and applying it to a fictional "everyone"...? I wasn't looking for simpler or further-complex controls in the game at all. I didn't care. A change is a change, and changes are subject to scrutiny and editorializing.Bardo117 wrote:It also pisses me off that everyone wants a game thats simpler, yet when they get it, they all complain about it, and then when we get a complex game, everybody says its too hard.
