Re: Ginyu...What if?
In all seriousness, I think that Gotenks' soul would go into Ginyu's body and stay that way, with Goten and Trunks never re-emerging, and I think Ginyu would live it up in Gotenks body for about thirty minutes; then he would split and die. When they split, both Goten and Trunk's bodies would look normal, but Ginyu's mind would be divided in half and he'd just go braindead or something. I don't know. It certainly wouldn't be beneficial for either of them, thats for sure.

So if that were true, could they not fuse into Gotenks because he would be dead? Would they fuse into a dead person? I think they would have to bring Gotenks back to life.dbgtFO wrote:I can't compare it to Old Kaioshin, since we are dealing with 2 different forms of fusion. If not mine and Kaboom's theory that swapping bodies with a merged being is impossible, the other theory would be that the planet would implode.

I don't know, I see it as Gotenks simply being a magical temporary being unlike Elder Kaioshin, "Kibitoshin" and Vegetto who are supposed to stay in that form FOREVER!!.Great Saiyaman I wrote:I can't compare it to Old Kaioshin, since we are dealing with 2 different forms of fusion. So Goten and Trunks would be able to fuse into Gotenks again even though he was killed, as he is not a being with a normal lifespan or something like that. Hope you understood it.

Something I always thought TOEI made wrong (how uncommon!) when Vegeta and Goku fused in movie 12 Gogeta has a halo above his head, indicating he is dead. But shouldn't he technical be alive? Since he is a completely different person than Goku and Vegeta...

Even though he is a different person, he is based on the two fusees. So if they're both dead, so is he.Senzu_Bean wrote:Something I always thought TOEI made wrong (how uncommon!) when Vegeta and Goku fused in movie 12 Gogeta has a halo above his head, indicating he is dead. Re: Ginyu...What if?
Goku learned the fusion from some people in Other World, who were supposedly dead as well. If their fused form was alive, I think Goku would have mentioned it or something... or not since this is Buu arc Goku we are talking about.Senzu_Bean wrote:That doesn't really make him a completely different person, does it?Great Saiyaman I wrote:Even though he is a different person, he is based on the two fusees. Even if he is a completely different person, he's based on the two fusees, who are both dead. Take them away and you haven't got Gogeta. Think about it like this. If Gogeta didn't have a halo and he was alive, he wouldn't try to escape from Heaven via Shunkan-Ido, would he? Because he's technically dead in that the people who make him are dead, or he can't expect to pop back into Earth and live there just because he's temporarily alive for 30 minutes.Senzu_Bean wrote:Something I always thought TOEI made wrong (how uncommon!) when Vegeta and Goku fused in movie 12 Gogeta has a halo above his head, indicating he is dead. As for Vegetto...he didn't have a halo over his head, and Goku said if Vegeta wasn't fused with him, he'd have to go back to the afterlife. Maybe something about the fact that he was supposed to be a permanent fusion and Vegeta was in the living world anyway makes it okay for Vegetto to be alive.

No, Vegetto just told the afterlife to go fuck itself.Piccolo Daimao wrote:As for Vegetto...he didn't have a halo over his head, and Goku said if Vegeta wasn't fused with him, he'd have to go back to the afterlife. I'm pretty sure that was a joke. Yeah, I know, whenever Vegetto comes into discussion, Rocketman always jokes about him. But still, I was kind of looking for an actual answer.jjgp1112 wrote:I'm pretty sure that was a joke. Just a hunch

Who's joking?
Re: Ginyu...What if?
Perhaps Toriyama should have let Vegetto kill Buu, and resurrect everyone with the Dragon Balls.Rocketman wrote:Who's joking?
Once that happens, Vegetto will appear on every TV outlet saying "You are all my children now" and the planet will be called Planet Vegetto...where they do nothing but worship Vegetto.

Re: Ginyu...What if?
Gotenks would be trapped in Gi Nyu's body, but as his Gotenks persona forever, since that body will never split. However, Gi Nyu in Gotenks' body will most likely split into Gotenk and Trunks, both with Gi Nyu's mind. I'd say the 2 Gi Nyus would be too busy arguing with each other since they'd be stuck in the bodies of 2 kids, without knowing how to fuse back into Gotenks.
I assume if a Fusion was actually killed, they would just split into the dead bodies of the people who made em. Like... if Gotenks gets fatally stabbed, he dies and splits into a dead Goten and Trunks, both with matching stab wounds.

Re: Ginyu...What if?
I guess it's plausible. Goku's bent the rules of the afterlife before, like when he wished Boo would be resurrected so they could fight again, so Lord Enma reincarnated Boo as Oob, someone who could actually fight.Rocketman wrote:Who's joking?

Re: Ginyu...What if?
This could be thought of way easier
What if instead of Gotenks either Goten or Trunks' soul is picked at random and he changes with him. Then suddenly there's no one dieing
Or no actual problem anyway :p
You can hear it from his voice. I don't think Gotenks is one soul at all. I think he's two souls who are resonating with eachother. Well, just another theory anyway, it has as little proof as the rest of the theories here XD
