Tanooki's "Plan to Eradicate the Super Saiyans" Review!
So, here are my thoughts on this feature...
Going into this I really didn't know what to expect. I know I kinda hated the original "Plan to Eradicate the Saiyans" feature so I really didn't know if this was going to be any better.

The controls for the movie kinda suck because you can't rewind or fast foward. You can pause or go to a chapter. But, there are only about 5 chapters so if you wanted to go back to see something or read something you missed you might end up going back quite a bit.
The subtitles seem alright, the text they use is clean and the size is pretty decent. But at some points they seem a bit off or not necessary. When Bulma calls Goku "Son-kun", it's translated as "Goku". When someone screams or moans, it's subtitled. Why?! That never makes sense to me! Also all names are spelled as they are in the dub.
The animation is hit or miss. There are times when it looks pretty cool, and then there are times when it looks really bad. Overall though, it's not that bad.
And now for the actual feature. I'm not going to spoil the ending but I will however be talking about how most of the story plays out. The first half moves very fast. The first scenes are of the Saiyans attacking the Tuffles planet and all the grudges of the dead Tuffles being collected into a machine created by Dr. Raiichi, and blasting off into space.
Years later when the gas attacks the Earth everyone seemed to grasp what was going on and what they had to do rather fast. Instead of Mr.Popo telling Goku and Gohan about the gas (as in the original movie\feature), Goku just shows up at Bulma's house already knowing there is a strange gas. Bulma even knows what kind of gas is attacking the Earth despite Vegeta telling her a second later that the only people that could handle this kinda of weapon is the Tuffles. How would Bulma know a Tuffles gas? Eh, maybe shes actually that smart.

Goku, Gohan, Trunks, Piccolo and Vegeta head towards, what they thought to be the source of the gas according to Bulma. This is when Freeza, Coola, Tulece and Slug appear. Sadly, there is no "ghost warriors" line in this version. It was cool seeing all these villains on one screen. It plays out a little different than in the original version. Here, Bulma saves the day. Well, sort of. While the Z warriors are getting their asses kicked, the effects from the gas settles in and they all get weaker. How convenient. Right as the bad guys are about to give the final blow...

...Bulma swoops in, in her aircraft thing telling the guys she found a neutralizer for the gas...

What?! At this point... you realize it's going to be one of those movies where you just turn your brain off and don't even bother questioning anything.
Bulma drops a bunch of capsules out of the aircraft popping open, neutralizing the gas and some capsules even land in the machine destroying it. The Z Warriors are now totally fine and the bad guys know shits about to go down.

Without the regeneration power the gas was providing, all the bad guys just get destroyed. As Freeza is being blasted he yells out "don't underestimate our grudges". With that strange message Goku contacts King Kai. He tells Goku you have saved West City but the Earth is still in danger and that he must find the culprit behind these gas attacks.
Now the next scene. Dr. Raiichi (well more like a ghost of Dr.Raiichi) is sitting in a pile of grudge balls. Goku and company are in the Doctor's fortress. How did they get there? How did they know where to go?! What kind of crazy adventures did they have trying to get past the guards?! Who knows?! they are just... there.
Dr.Raiichi is sitting behind a barrier which Goku and everyone help to break open. With that, Vegeta blast a Final Flash killing the Doctor... well, I guess getting as close as you can to "killing" a ghost.

After that, Dr.Raiichi's grudge calls tells Hatchiyack (which is only a machine at this point) to absorb his grudge and change into his final form. Hatchiyack awakens and starts attacking Goku and company. The clip I posted before is of the scene I'm talking about.

From this point on I really enjoyed this movie. From here on in it felt like classic DBZ. Too bad the feature was almost over at this point. So with that, I'll stop here. I don't wanna ruin the ending or anything like that.
I guess if I had to give a definite thumbs up or thumbs down, I really couldn't do it. At first you're excited to be watching a new DragonBall feature so it might cloud your judgment. I didn't feel like the first half entertained me and I kinda wanted to fast forward a bit even though that first half moves really fast. But once Hatchiyack is released that's when I started to get into it. You see Goku form a plan and everyone takes part in it. There is even some humor to end the movie on.
Anyway, here are a few screen shots. Some are of past the point of this review so make what you will out of it.

Sounds like they rushed this a bit. Animation aside, the writing could've easily been tightened up a little bit. Oh well...
Oh, there's that news girl from Heya! Son Gokû & Friends Return!!

I must ask, Tanooki...Is there the line, "They're ghost warriors!"?

No, I said it wasn't in the review itself. Way to just look at the pictures.

Edit: Dr. Raiichi calls them ghosts. But that line Goku yells about them being ghost warriors isn't in it.Tanooki Kuribo wrote:Sadly, there is no "ghost warriors" line in this version.

Sounds like something I'll have to check out. Sure, it's far from perfect, but I'm not too worried. I'll probably still enjoy it thanks to the next phase of my "Operation: Lighten up!! It's just Dragonball!"

Re: "Raging Blast 2" Pre-Release Discussion
Thanks for the review! I thought it would have ended the same way the original ended(with the correct ending).
Re: "Raging Blast 2" Pre-Release Discussion
Not a big fan of the animation but seeing Lord Slug, Cooler, Frieza, and Turles all together is awesome.
Re: "Raging Blast 2" Pre-Release Discussion
Seems kinda annoying how the subtitles are on the left side of the screen, rather than being centered. o_O;

Why couldn't they have put the subtitles right in the middle?

Another casting confirmation from Tanooki:

Clinkenbeard returns to the role of #18, her first time since Shin Budokai.

That final screenshot of Goku having dropped everyone off clumsily at Capsule Corp. YES.
I can't wait to see this, even if it is short and sounds a bit rushed.
Is the game available for rent? I thought it wasn't supposed to be out til November.
