GT Fights

What battles in GT did you enjoy?

IMO top 3.
1. Goku vs Ledgic
2. Everyone vs Omega Shenron
3. Goku vs Baby Vegeta

What I don't understand is how people say "Oh vegeta, Goten Trunks Piccolo etc are useless". Well not really. They save Goku's life multiple times, basically batteries to help push Goku's limits, buy time for Goku/Vegeta to power up, kill off minor villains. That's all most of the fighters in Z did anyway. Sure they'd kill Saibamen/Guldo, but its "Oh Goku, save us" when nappa/Recoome starts fighting. Hell, Majuub one shots Rildo.

Goku vs Ledgic was very short but sweet. Goku vs Rild was longer and just as good. Super Saiyan 4 Goku vs Baby-Vegeta was very good up to a certain point (sometime in the middle of the Oozaru Baby portion, the animation and overall quality suddenly turns to crap). Goku vs Super 17 was pretty good despite how little sense it made. SSj4 Goku vs Si and San Xing Long was amazing. Lastly, it's been a while, but I seem to remember portions of Goku vs Yi Xing Long being pretty good too.

I enjoyed Super Saiya-jin 4 Goku fighting against Super Bebi Vegeta and Super Oozaru Bebi Vegeta even though everyone helpped to get Goku upto full-powered Super Saiya-jin 4 and totally owned Bebi by blasting him to the sun.

People can criticize GT, it's characters, animation, and even musical score but I LOVED GT's fights. They were short compared to DB but were very surreal and interesting.

- I loved Goku vs. Ledgic because of the atmosphere of the battle. Goku found a new rival on a foreign planet then they duke it out in the next episode. Ledgic had some cool powers and his fighting style sort of resembled SSJ Goku's as well.

- Goku vs. Rild. Rild had been hyped up from his debut, and during this fight we see Goku go for broke against the one behind Gill's back-stabbing.

Goten vs. Gohan. The biggest brotherly spat. We get to see Gohan's power after all these years of peace, and SSJ Adult Goten was NO joke either.

Son Bros. vs. Vegeta. 'Nuff said.

Son Bros. vs. Goku. After years of peace, years of team work, Goku was forced to raise his hand against his own children.

Son Goku vs. Baby Vegeta. Up to this point in GT, Goku was portrayed as the strongest in the galaxy. But in this fight he finally got his and died.

Againnnnn......geez don't tell me it still came with heavy drama.

Goku & Trunks vs Luud robobaby-thing. That's just awesome all around.
Goku, Trunks and Pan vs Rild. Okay it's just one blast, but still it's the real power of teamwork.

And a few moments involving:

- A spider (Well how about that, I happen to be arachnophobic.)
- Muchi gucci or somedewadda...
- Zunama (He deserved that.)
- Baby (Botomless power!!!!)
- Sandworms
- Caveworms
- Yakon
- A huge amount of tiles (Link knows)

I love this show. Ledgic is no.1 on my blacklist now.

The fights against #17 would have been cool if I wasn't freaking out about the power-related plot holes it was spitting onto my face.

I as well enjoyed when she fired a Kamehameha at the Dragon. That was one of the more enjoyable parts of GT to me.

Fights over all, I liked Goku vs Bebi Vegeta. It lasted a while and had some stops in it, but it was pretty damn good in my opinion.

Well the longer fights felt more epic that way. Most GT fights were short but Goku vs Baby Vegeta and the all out final battle with Omega were gruelling and down and dirty. Like the classic Goku vs Vegeta. No Senzus or Dende or Dragonballs in sight.

Say what you will, but up to that point, Goku was a boring invincible cocky hero. Seeing the villain one-up him and killing him was cool, not to mention the fact that everyone thought he was "deader than dead" because he did not appear in the afterlife but rather in the Backgammon/Parcheesi-space.

- Another fight I enjoyed was Oob vs. Baby Vegeta. Brief, but it was cool to see the guy who Goku trained for years in action, 'specially after uniting with Boo.

- Revived Kid Goku vs. Baby Vegeta - This was another curb stomp but the color palette and animation did it for me. Also, Goku staring at the Earth in despair for failing her was a cheesy tear jerker.

SSJ4 Goku vs. Baby Vegeta. New SSJ pummels Baby Vegeta with an awesome BGM score.

Any fight including Mr. Satan would be the best IMHO. Thinking about it, he, Mr. Boo, Kibitoshin and Rou Kaioshin were the only ones kept unchanged.
Oh, another one! Mecha Bee vs. Baby Goten (unreleased in the US, only to be found in the Korean DragonCube).

People criticize it all the time, but I love the Goku vs Super 17 fight for the simple fact that it looks gorgeous. The animation is good the whole way through, the coloring is wonderful, and the battle spans from a sunset city, to the stratosphere, to an arctic cliff, to an ocean, to a forest, etc. It's just good fun.

I like Goku vs San Xing Long as well, especially when Goku decides to let lose with Super Saiyan 4 after San Xing Long tries to use Pan as a shield. A rather overlooked, incredibly epic moment.

And finally I enjoy the fight against Yi Xing Long just for its sense of finality. And they manage cram a lot of different approaches and events into a seven-episode battle. It manages to keep things interesting the entire time.

I agree with all of these, espicially when it comes to the awesome animation for Gokû's fight with Rild. I also really loved the epic confrontation between Gokû and Ôzaru Baby. Baby threatening the Earth by firing his Super Gyallic Hô, Gokû firing back, and then taking the second blast was awesome. Too bad the final episode of the fight (#39, I do believe). It was an Uchiyama animation episode. I rage that they wasted Kuda on #38.

Definitely liked these short ones.

I liked it until Vegeta got possessed.

I was going to say Vegeta vs Gohan, but now that I think about it, I don't believe Vegeta ever lands a single hit. Fuck you Toei.

I will say that, if you cut Goku vs Super 17 out from its "let's shit on everybody else!" surroundings, it's a pretty sweet fight.

It's a funny thing with GT fights, I can only really enjoy certain portions of them, as opposed to the entire thing. So here are my top three favorites:

Goku Vs. Baby (Right up to SSJ4 Goku's full power being restored by his family and Trunks): I enjoy pretty much this entire conflict, counting Goku and Baby's first scuffle on Earth where Goku is far outclassed, then on into Baby's new planet. The battle is just so epic in scope, with help from it kinda being a "Goku Vs. Vegeta: Round 3", showcasing these two fighting quite literally across different planets. The point in the battle where I stop enjoying it though is right after Goku is restored to full power, reason being the rest of the fight sadly becomes a cheap display of pure ki spammage where not one more physical hit is made.

Goku Vs. Super 17: (Despite the specific way Super 17 is killed totally sucking): Putting aside the fact Goku's Super Saiyan form made Vegeta's look pathetic, I really liked the similar huge scope taken in this fight. Goku and 17 literally knocking each other across the world, exactly how a fight should be with power levels as high as they are at this point in the story, plus a very clever way in making an enemy that actually poses a threat to SSJ4 Goku. And while I despise the fact that normal-form Goku made the finishing blows, I do love how #18 came back and helped, that almost made up for how 17 goes out.

Goku Vs. Suu Xing-Long: Granted the start between Goku and Suu's normal forms is a bit of a bore, once Goku hits level 4, things get inanely awesome in how they fight it out. The only thing keeping this from being in my top two favorites is the excessive amount of ki spammage, not quite as bad as the way SSJ4 Goku and Golden Great Ape Baby's battle finished, but pretty obvious and could've used more down-&-dirty physical stuff. Overall though, really liked it!
