I prefer Tarble's design in the Jump Special. Apart from that weird Super Saiyan colour, I adore the animation in it.

Just because they are brothers doesn't mean that they have to have the same features. That's why I prefer the Jump Special version more. Goku and Raditz were brothers, but they didn't look alike. Brothers don't always look alike. Even if they have a similar face, there's always a difference somewhere.

But my concern is... why does he look like he's 14? Vegeta's brother... meaning born from King Vegeta... who died... when Goku was a couple of days old? So... how does Tarble look like that?

I think Tarble might look young due to his size. Its possible that Vegeta's Mom was very short, and making him smaller then Vegeta.

Just because he can't fight doesn't mean he has to be small though.

Wow, I didn't know his character design in the manga differs so much from the jump special (have only seen the special)

The anime takes a more recent Toriyama like approach in drawing style. He DOES draw people with small bodies and huge headslately , and I'm not really likeing that. I mean he looks the same age as Goten and Trunks and he's supposed to be 30 something.

Also yeah, he looks a lot more like Gohan in the anime , the manga version makes more sense.

When Raditz come to Earth he recognizes Goku right away and says he is identical to his father. And Bardock design is not exclusively Goku, he got Raditz eyes.

But Raditz does resembles Goku a little. And even Freeza said that Gohan maybe was Raditz son.

He just looks like a kid in the special, not a small adult. Its ridiculous.
