"Raging Blast 2" Gigantic On-Going Gaming Discussion
Re: "Raging Blast 2" Gigantic On-Going Gaming Discussion
If they actually gave out some good/important DLC, then having it in the next game wouldn't be a selling point.

Re: "Raging Blast 2" Gigantic On-Going Gaming Discussion
I've already said this more than a couple times in this topic, there won't be any DLC.
Last game all the "DLC" was already on the game and what Namco Bandai released to us were simply a series of unlock codes to give us what was already on the disc. This time the "DLC" is already on the disc and available by playing the game. The enhanced characters with preset crap are available by defeating the Zones with a fighter (though I'm not sure if all characters have an enhanced version or not, beating one with some characters unlocked nothing in my experiences). Namco Bandai has been losing money in sales, and it costs money for them to host DLC (even just the unlock codes), so in order to try and get back in the black they aren't providing DLC this time (the unlocks from the collectors edition orwhichever store you bought it at for us in the US are as close as we're going to get).

Kuura sounded a lot more like Fuuriza in this game than from the "Suupa Saiya-jin Zetmumetsu Keikaku" OVA.

Yes, it costs money to host, but if they were smart they would be gaining money. Example: I would happily pay for DLC if it was something cool. Hey, NB, want my money? Give me something I want[/Epic plot twist]. I would pay five bucks for SSJ4 Goku alone. Seven for something Future Trunks, Fat Buu, Super Buu what-if absorbtion, or anti-spam related. This is a motto I go by when it comes to DLC: "You keep money, Buu keep ice cream!" And in this case, ice cream is 1, new, fricken, form/char.TheDevilsCorpse wrote:I've already said this more than a couple times in this topic, there won't be any DLC.

Just been finishing up Galaxy Mode recently (Unexpected Blow is a godsend) and was thinking, there's no ROSAT in this game is there? Just found that a little strange, I always assumed it was pretty easy to create seeing as how it's mainly all white space. Just something I found interesting.

Anyone else still play this game? I still won't mind doing a RB2 Xboxlive game night with RB2 soon with the people on this site.

Re: "Raging Blast 2" Gigantic On-Going Gaming Discussion
I play it occasionally but only on my Ps3 :/
I really hope they improve by LIGHTYEARS when they make RB3.
RB2 was an improvement but it also disappointed me on so many levels. I don't know if they are just sick of the fans mocking the games' story modes in the past or if they are just lazy and very uncreative to make a good story mode, with neat cutscenes or anything but not just a lousy arcade mode which goes on forever and makes you want to end it as soon as possible. That's not fun to me.
Why don't they just look at games like NUNS2? It was a game with a perfectly captured story. Yes it was 1:1 with the anime but still. Those franchises are anime-related games which need to stick the story. Giving the game some what-ifs is ok and also refreshing.
And also when making a FINAL game in a series of games then hell put yourself together and realize that EVERYTHING that was important in the series needs to be implemented. Thereby I mean all important stages, outfits, signature moves and attacks and so on...
And even though most signature attacks are just the same beam and energy volley attacks..then invent something new that looks neat. Hell it can't be that hard.
Wow I didn't intend to write so much but Dragonball just makes me nostalgia so much..

One thing I hate about the cutscenes is there's no fighting. In all of Raging Blast 1, I can only recall one cutscene where contact between two characters is present. It detracts from the total cutscene value if you don't have signature moments, like when Goku knocks out Recoome before he can charge the ultra fighting bomber. Or, even better, some of those moments where you've got a pretty cutscene and you've got to press buttons at the right time. UNS2 has what I mean, and it's a great way for the developers to capture fights in better detail then they could with a real-time button-mashing fest.

Re: "Raging Blast 2" Gigantic On-Going Gaming Discussion
Not only does it cost money to host the DLC on the PS3/360's store servers, but it also costs them money to develop said DLC. Since they are already losing money, quite a bit actually, on their DB series games compared to what they were getting in the past. Even with the DLC, if people actually bought it, they would be lucky to break even with some of the past titles that didn't do so hot.ssjtrunks51 wrote:Yes, it costs money to host, but if they were smart they would be gaining money. I'm not saying I'm happy with their choice, but from a business standpoint it is a very logical option. Not everyone shares your opinion on DLC, though I do to an extent. If NB invests in making REAL DLC and hardly no one buys it, then we may lose out on Dragon Ball games if they don't have the money to support developing them, localizing them, etc. Right now they are simply being smart...or a version of it lol, and playing it safe. Good for them...annoying for us.
Hell, as it stands right now though, I don't even want DLC. I want a fucking patch that makes my custom characters work right in the modes where more than 1v1 fights are used.

That's exactly what I meant by cutscenes. NUNS2 was great in terms of that. They looked colossal, cinematic and epic. And why can't they just make it with Dragonball?ssjtrunks51 wrote:One thing I hate about the cutscenes is there's no fighting. It's a mystery that's hopefully going to be solved with RB3..

Goten's rock attack, best move in any DBZ game ever.

Jokes aside, that's actually not a bad move, because it can keep combos going...Turtle Marked Stone wrote:Goten's rock attack, best move in any DBZ game ever.

Ah, I knew it had some kind of purpose I just couldn't figure out what. I just think it's a really funny attack, he just lobs a stone at his opponent like a real 8 year old.ssjtrunks51 wrote:Jokes aside, that's actually not a bad move, because it can keep combos going...Turtle Marked Stone wrote:Goten's rock attack, best move in any DBZ game ever.

Shenlong summoning, Porunga Summoning and End Credits.
Speaking of unlockables, has anyone unlocked all of the pictures? I'm still slowly making my way through the game.

I've given up on the illustrations, but I think I have about 350 of them.
Re: "Raging Blast 2" Gigantic On-Going Gaming Discussion
I've been playing this game very slowly, it gets on my nerves sometimes. Them "near death" battles just take the piss.
I've done Trunks, Goten and Videl's Galaxies today. Videl is just what I expected. Goten and Trunks are disappointing, to be honest I was expecting that as well. At least Goten manages to have a few moves he ACTUALLY used in the series, he even has his rock throw attack. Trunks has got a bunch of generic bullshit, apart from his Ultimates. They could at least give us Kamehameha to unlock, he used it once, that's enough for me, at least it would give him some variety.

Does anyone else feel like there should news about Raging Blast 3 by now (that is if they're making it of course)? Sorry for the bump.

We got an official announcement about Raging Blast 2 in early May 2010. It's still mid-March, so if the usual console game for release in November is still on-track, give it another few weeks. Still a little too early, methinks... especially with all the bullshit going down with Kai right now.

I could have sworn I seen scans of the first Raging Blast in March 09. Then again it probably was May as well...
