Buu's actor was in Raging Blast 2 as well.B wrote:Anyone who's old actor hasn't been too involved with FUNi outside of DBZ games. So far, all those people have been replaced in Kai. So I guess that's 18, Buu, Dabra, Babidi(I hear he was replaced at some point in the games?).
I highly doubt Kara Edwards is going anywhere, she was in a recent game with the Kai replacements and has been in a few recent FUNi shows.

OK, fine, I get the point.Rory wrote:You haven't really been looking too hard, as I completely agree with him.Piccolo Daimao wrote:Wow. He sounds way too old, and, though maybe it was due to him being new to acting, he sounded stiff and robotic.
If Kyle Hebert can sound more like Brad Swaile, then I'll be happy. I thought Hebert's Gohan sounded too serious, while Swaile managed to bring out Gohan's personality more.
Most of all, I'm looking forwards to Trunks. I hope he gets a new voice, or at least a better portrayal. The DBZ dub took away all his charm.

If it gets to the Buu arc, I can't wait to hear Kyle Herbert's Gohan, just because of how he sounded in Raging Blast 2.
Also Colleen Clinkenbeard's 18 is great.

Wait Babidi's voice might not return?! I actually prefer the English voice to actor to the Japanese.B wrote:Anyone who's old actor hasn't been too involved with FUNi outside of DBZ games. Agreed, I love Joji Yanami; he's an amazing Kaio and Narrator. But, I hope he gets recast in Kai. Wasn't a fan of his Babidi.AgitoZ wrote:Wait Babidi's voice might not return?! For the dub side, as long as the can find something close to; or hopefully bring Duncan Brennan back. But, since it seems like he was replaced in BT3; however, it sounded near-identical. So, however his replacement comes back to do Babidi in Kai.

Hmm... after hearing Future Trunk's Japanese VA in BT3, I'm hoping for something that sounds like that. Don't know if Eric Vale could pull it off.

It would be kinda cool if Colleen Clinkenbeard was able to play Gohan as a teen and adult, she probably does have it in her.
I don't really mind Kyle Herbert as Gohan so it'll work either way.
Hopefully she'll be Goten at least.

I'm looking forward to Travis's Cell in Kai. I'm sure that Travis will do fine as Cell.
Hearing him in RB2 doesn't matter to me because there is a big difference between voice acting in anime and voice acting in games.

I'm looking forward to a more toned down Majin Buu voice from Josh Martin.

Wasn't RB2 the last game to use the old cast, though? It may not be a solid indicator.ohaimynameiserik wrote:Buu's actor was in Raging Blast 2 as well.B wrote:Anyone who's old actor hasn't been too involved with FUNi outside of DBZ games. Well, cool and urgh. Josh Martin's great, but Cook's Evil Buu is so generic. Though, it's not like any role Justin Cook had would go to someone else anyway.

I'm hoping they get a better older Dende, too. I like Justin Cook, but not as Dende.

Eric Vale as Trunks. I think he's an absolutely perfect Trunks, but in the Z Dub his acting was sub-par for at least half of the arc that Trunks was around. I look forward to hearing his acting improve. I just hope he doesn't make it TOO raspy. I've noticed at times in the Video Games he makes his voice too raspy. I think he should use the voice like he did in the Z Dub, just with better acting.

Aaron Dismuke as an older Dende.

Hmmm. You know, I think for once you and I are in agreement. If they do decide to change older Dende, Aaron would be a stellar choice.penguintruth wrote:You know what would be neat?JulieYBM wrote:I'd hope they just let Whitehead voice him.penguintruth wrote:I'm hoping they get a better older Dende, too. I'm really looking forward to Trunks. I'm a fan of Eric Vale's Trunks, I just want to hear what he can do with the new and improved Kai direction.
Re: Voices you are looking forward to for the Funi dub of Ka
About Babidi, I think Bill Townsley was only a temporary replacement for just the games, as Duncann Brannen has done voices for FUNimation still in recent years such as Sarquiss and Mr.3 for One Piece. Kyle Hebert said he's still going to be Teen Gohan. However, there's rumors that Kai may end after the Cell saga, so we may never even get to those characters.
As for what voices I'm looking forward to, Android 19, Android 16 and Cell. Android 19 is Todd Haberkorn, but I'd like to see if he'll be allowed to have his own take on the character instead of mimicing the robotic voice that Phillip Wilburn did, that he did for Raging Blast. Jeremy Inman's Android 16 is supposed to sound different this time around, so I'm hoping he doesn't so all robotic and monotone this time. I've heard Travis Willingham's Cell in the Raging Blast games and it's ok, but I'm curious how well he'll play Cell in Kai. I wish Dameon Clarke could simply return as Cell just for Kai, but he's busy working in California now, and his character Scar was replaced by J. Michael Tatum in FMA Brotherhood too.
