No, I mean original (as in 1996), not their 2005 re-dub.

When do the Japanese ever "go with" the term 'Android'?
Joining the party a little late here, and it's probably not relevant any more, but just as a little note, some of the songs around this time in the series, like "Warning of Danger" or "An Official Challenge" (Chousenjou) use "Android" in English too. In the former, the line is "Android Power... Miseteyaru..." or "The Android Power... We'll show it to you...", and in the latter, it's a line in the first chorus, "Ore wa muteki no android" / "I am the peerless, invincible android".

They had Mr.Popo scream out "Kami-san!" too (not really accurate but still.) I guess they really liked their honorifics or something.

Yeah. Talk about weird... O_o

It so very apparent that FUNi had no idea whatsoever as to what they were doing. The script "translation" they were working with wasn't helping in that department, tho... :/ I wonder if they wouldn't followed the script closer if they were able to make sense of it. Ah, if only they had hired a translator. :(

*throws water on self*Now for my totally unbiased opinion. Well King Cold & Mecha Freeza were superb. I loved the old version for it's cheesiness and loved this ""corrected" version just the same.

Okay, Trunks.......man oh man! He sounds fierce! The echoing effects sounded awesome, especially with Eric's kiai. I actually find it a shame that Kai doesn't have the squirrel-scene. I mean when he said "Never met the guy, fan of his work.".....bad....and then later you would get the squirrels, kids would be like "Is this the same guy???".

I enjoyed the others as well.

I look forward to the day that someone takes the Kai English dub voice track and puts it over Battle Power Infinity.

Aaand they kept Instant Transmission. :\ Along with Android. Don't mind the second part, but I just hate that translation of Instantaneous Movement for some reason.

Bulma: I guess you still don't take anything seriously, do you?

Goku: I don't?

I couldn't help but smile at that reaction. *just searched for the new episode on Nicktoons' site*

But guys, don't you remember that we already knew they'd be keeping dub terms for the edited version? If they kept some of the original names for the uncut version, there's hope for Instantaneous Movement.

Speaking of Gohan's lack of "Mr. Piccolo," I find it funny how the games use "Mr. Tien" for Chaozu's finishing move, yet he's never referred to as such in the dub at all.

I'm only about a minute in but there's a cute wink at the old dub courtesy of Kuririn.

Edit: Watched the entire thing. No real flaws in terms of a typical dub Kai episode. I randomly noticed they changed Yamucha's sneeze around to be closer to the comment regarding him.

I'd argue that the overly literal translation of "Instantaneous Movement" is too awkward when spoken out loud in English, especially since "Shunkan Idō" is just a generic japanese term for what we call "Teleportation" in English -- which is probably what they should've called it in the first place...

They still pronounce Gero wrong. And they accidentally used episode 1's credits for episode 57, complete with Linda Young credited for Freeza

Ah is that the translation? I agree about "Instantaneous Movement" maybe being too much of a mouth full. Then again I’m fine with “Instant Transmission” too to an extent.

FUNimation (or maybe NickToons), you fail at credits. And at deinterlacing, too.

Kokoro no Hane is supposed to be the ending theme now, anyway. Maybe FUNimation hasn't given it to Nicktoons yet so they just slapped on episode 1's credits. :P

I know they didn't do it for the ending theme, but they have the instrumental version playing during the next episode preview.

Or it just confirms that the uncut version will have the Japanese version.
