I still honestly do not prefer one over the other. Weeelll... Maybe toward the middle of the Z dub, I think the original Bulma was very irritating. But other than that, even as a teen, I thought she was acceptable.

Saw the latest episode. Ridiculously, they cut out the scene with Goku accidentally smacking Chi-Chi through the house. Worried about spousal abuse or something? c.c

You never know with censors and channel based Standards and Practices Boards. What's appropriate changes like the wind. Though, I really want to see the voice work of that scene, should be quite funny.

But, other than that, what did you think of the episode? Good? Bad? Meh? Any standout voice work?

And of a slightly off topic note, I just found out that Patrick Seitz (the guy who people didn't like some of his Trunks Arc scripting) is apparently voicing the cutscene portions of Scorpion in the new Mortal Kombat (Ed Boon still does the "Get Over Here!", most likely), so I can at least say I'm cool with the person as a VA.

So, what episode do #19 and #20 first appear in? I want to see how the old voices end up performing under the new script. I did like #20's voice originally, so I'm hopeful that it's just continual improvement. I'm also curious to see how the #19 voice will end up being.

You can show a man hitting a man on TV. But not a man hitting a woman. That would be sexist, ya'll.

Wouldn't it be sexist for him to NOT hit women? By not hitting them, it's implying that they're inferior and can't take a hit from a man.

If you were really into equality, you'd hit women just as often as men.

Women technically contain less muscle mass than men, on average. I don't necessarily believe a man should not defend himself against a woman if she attacks him, but there is a certain amount of restraint men must exercise with women.

I'd say that Artificial Human 18 should be punched right in the face, because let's face it: She's a real fighter and she's legitimately dangerous. But by-and-large, the average woman does not contain the same amount of muscle mass as the average man. Does that mean women should be allowed to hit men and not the other way around? No, that's ridiculous. I'm always furious when I see women slapping men, then crying foul when the tables turn. Violence isn't an acceptable way for petty conflicts to be resolved.

They're still going with the robotic filter for 19. Though Todd Haberkorn uses a lower pitched voice for 19's voice than Phillip Wilburn, and the filter is a bit more subtle, so I'd say it works well.

They also cut out Gero punching through Yamcha's stomach, but they kept the first part in where Yamcha looks shocked and you hear the sound effect of it. They also keep the hole in Yamcha's stomach intact, though it's colored black (is it like this in the original, something Kai did, or a NickToons edit?).

Also, Gero sounds much better to me, and I already thought he was pretty good before.

There's nothing wrong with showing a scene of Goku accidentally knocking Chi-Chi out of his house. This patronizing sexism crap about not being allowed to show men hitting women is just political correctness bullshit. Yes, on average, women are weaker than men. But that doesn't mean that if you show a scene of a man hitting a woman, it's suddenly sexist and offensive to women.

Oh, as I said, it was ridiculous to cut the scene. It's OBVIOUSLY not spousal abuse, it's done in a comedic manner, and she's pretty much fine afterwards. It wasn't even an actual strike, it was a pat that was too hard.

In Episode 58, the song that starts when Gohan gets knocked down towards the end...am I wrong in wanting to say it almost sounds like the second Budokai opening in an instrumental form? At least, the beat...

Nope, it's definitely a remix of Budokai 2's opening.

I'm liking Sabat's Yamucha in episode 59, especially when he talks about how Bulma's kid isn't his. Poor Yamucha. Monica Rial's great in that scene, too, really warm and friendly-sounding. Vollmer just made her sound obnoxious.

They're trying way too hard to make Artificial Human 19 seem robotic.

I don't notice any major script abnormalities in 58 or 59. Or even minor annoying ones.

Actually, there was ONE line that stuck out.

Jinzouningen 20: Explain, who informed you of our plans?

Piccolo: If you want THAT answer you'll just have to go home and write me a polite letter!

I mean, I chuckled, but somewhat awkwardly.

The only thing I heard wrong with the script was Piccolo saying something about "write me a postcard"...hopefully it was a censorship.

I like Gero. My only problem with him is that he sounds too much like Tao.

19 is a huge improvement in my book, even though he's still a bit too high pitched. I don't mind the robotic effect.

I think everyone else was great.
