Goku's dialogue is even better unedited during his transformation.

Can you please post a clip showcasing the new opening with the new singer?MugiMikey wrote:I just got Kai Part 4, and it sounds like Greg Ayres is singing Dragon Soul, although I could be wrong.
With that said, it sounds like a higher pitched version of Justin Cook's cover.
It shouldn't. With insert songs, they may just not have anything resembling a karaoke track to work with. Furthermore, the Closing is somewhat more prevalent than an insert song at the very least. I'd expect them to dub that at the very -least-, if precedence stands to reason.negimagi2k wrote:Can you please post a clip showcasing the new opening with the new singer?MugiMikey wrote:I just got Kai Part 4, and it sounds like Greg Ayres is singing Dragon Soul, although I could be wrong.

And its very unfortunate they haven't dubbed those insert songs. It makes my hope bleak for "Kokoro no Hane"
Well, Trunks was basically talking down to Freeza, King Cold, and his men for most of his appearance. He doesn't talk the same way with the others. At least, not that I can recall.NeoKING wrote:Rock Lee basically speaks as if the translators directly translated the dialogue without any addition or changes, so he sounds as if what you'd expect if you're reading subs of the Japanese version. This also worked too. But with Trunks here, they made him a smack-talking, almost cocky ...VegettoEX wrote:From what I understand, the Naruto dub has Rock Lee speak as politely as can be expected in an English, and does not use contractions. That's a perfectly fine adaptation, and one that FUNimation could have taken a hint from.BlazingFiddlesticks wrote:I hear that Japanese Trunk's speaking basic Japanese translates to extreme politeness, which I don't know how you would really emulate in English
Take away that part of Trunks' character, and you're losing QUITE a bit in translation.
It looks like Thursday's episode went back to the correct Android saga opening. I wonder if they'll just switch between them at random.Innagadadavida wrote:Did anybody notice they went back to the old opening animation for this episode? Last week's episode had the Android saga opening, but this week was the Saiyan saga opening.
I looked at some random online weight/height charts. If Vegeta's only, say, 5 feet tall (which seems likely since Gokuu is only about 5' 7" and there's quite a gap between them if you don't count Vegeta's hair), the average weight for a man of that height is around 125~140 lb. I have no idea how much weight the inflated muscles would add, though. I have to wonder if Toriyama actually bothered to figure out how much Vegeta would weigh taking his muscle mass into account, or if he just said, "Well, he's a pretty short guy, so....60 kg. That'll do."MetalMadness wrote:Even though he's short, Vegeta is really heavily muscled. 135 pounds is the weight of an average height average weight girl. Vegeta should be way more.
Does the man really look any heavier?
It really bothers you that much? I don't find it that big a deal considering that death is heavily implied in addition to Nicktoons even allowing characters mentioning others being killed.(Ex. during the Freeza fight, Gohan tells Freeza that "he killed [his] dad," verbatim before SSJ Goku rises from the ocean) I mean they're basically using euphemisms at this point and I think that's perfectly okay.sailorspazz wrote: Until everyone died horrifically....and speaking of that, I'm really starting to get annoyed at all the pussified death talk that we're getting: "...they'll all be gone...", "...you won't recover...", "they fell to the Androids..." Almost find myself missing "another dimension."
Fantasmo! I hope links pop up soon, I won't get my copy til Monday.MugiMikey wrote:They aren't dubbed.

Nicktoons has been fine; I understand all their edits. I think the target of the post is Toonzai, which no one who cares enough to post on this forum should be watching for anything but laughs, as if Funi really felt that 4kids wanted Blue Popo, that's all it can be taken for.NeoKING wrote:It really bothers you that much? Woot! Angry words! Makes actually picking up the Freeza Kai boxes at some point more tempting, as the flat original version has been delaying my purchase of the second and third DBoxes... for some reason?ohaimynameiserik wrote:Fantasmo! They pronounce the g as it would be in French before an e, i or y. The female name "Genevèive" is a common example of this.Kendamu wrote:In the Japanese version it's "Gero" with a hard G. It's the dub where they changed it to something sounding like "Jero."Daimo-Rukiri wrote:I'm waiting for the blu-ray's before I judge Trunk's voice as everything sounds like requests from the network. Vales acting is better but it could have been requested to sound raspy which makes no sense what so ever..
Now I haven' even watched any eps since the freeza ark, do they actually pronounce "gero" right? In the Japanese version it's sounds like "jero"
It honestly seems like the last couple of times 'killed' was used that it probably just slipped by as an error. Really, if they edit variations of 'die' or 'kill' 10 times in an episode and allow one usage, it probably means they just missed it. In fact, I don't think any instances of 'die' or 'kill' have made it through since the scene you mentioned where Gohan said it. I just get irritated when I start to hear the characters dancing around the subject and I can just tell that it's clearly been edited. Like when Trunks says "they fell to the Androids", I'm just mentally replacing it with "they were killed by the Androids," and wishing I could be hearing that instead of what he's being edited to say (though I know I'll be able to hear it later on the DVD....and of course there's always the superior Japanese version ^_^)NeoKING wrote:It really bothers you that much? Exactly. Vegeta looks to be 200-205 lbs.MetalMadness wrote:Even though he's short, Vegeta is really heavily muscled. 135 pounds is the weight of an average height average weight girl. Vegeta should be way more.

That's just the point: While he is powerful, he's not hulking like some of those guys. He's muscular, but he's nowhere near as muscular as how our some people can get. I would give up, at his muscle mass and height, maybe 175 lbs at the most. Any more wouldn't match his size vs his build.mystic trunks wrote:There are bodybuilders that are 5'7 that are north of 300 lbs. I see no reason why Vegeta couldn't be 5'3 200 lbs. He's a saiyan for chrissake.
A Saiyan who has the ability to transform into a giant ape, as well as beef up on command. And, since matter can not simply be created, I have to assume that he weighs at least as much as a giant ape.mystic trunks wrote:There are bodybuilders that are 5'7 that are north of 300 lbs.
