No, I don't recall a "Head-Cha-La" rendition in the Toonzai airing or episode 96. Either Nagasaki doesn't like them, or they are trying to avoid using them and anything to do with Z. They are probably still trying to make Kai as "refreshed" as possible, and "Head-Cha-La" would make it even more like Z.MagicBox wrote:... Unless they've already used any of Kikuchi's many "Head-Cha-La" cues in the episodes themselves, in which case my theory crumbles.

A Kai marathon is on now on Nicktoons, and they're still playing Yamamoto's score.

I'm sure they'll do something about the BGM's replacement, I'm sure Toonzai didn't change it themselves.Budogenkai wrote:Then FUNi dun fugged up.

Does this mean Spirit VS Spirit will be kept intact with a proper dub?

Like I said on many other threads, and this one too, I think, Kai's replacement BGM is not the same as Z's.Budogenkai wrote:Does this mean Spirit VS Spirit will be kept intact with a proper dub?

On a Japanese re-run of that episode, Nagasaki chose M817 for Gohan's SSJ2 transformation. Therefore, the same piece will play in the dub of Kai, not Spirit vs Spirit.

Do you think FUNimation will change this to "Shunsuke Kikuchi"?

Very much so when they re-release their DVDs and Blu-rays.GotenDaisuki wrote:Do you think FUNimation will change this to "Shunsuke Kikuchi"?

Re: Dragonball Kai (FUNimation English) Dub: General Discuss
I ask this because they have a history of not being able to remember to change credits when needed (i.e. their Dragon Ball GT Season Sets, all 64 episodes list "Hitori Janai" as the Ending theme, even when other themes were used).Daimo-Rukiri wrote:Very much so when they re-release their DVDs and Blu-rays.
My guess is that they won't bother with changing it through Parts 1-4 but will probably change it for Parts 5 and up.
So mondo lame.
Re: Dragonball Kai (FUNimation English) Dub: General Discuss
Doesn't 4Kids have nothing to do with the dub? Most edits had to be made because of the CW's doing. I assume it's just FUNimation following Toei's orders.GotenDaisuki wrote:Like I said, I'm pretty sure 4Kids is taking early precautions.

Then how do you explain Nicktoons still using Yamamoto's score?AgitoZ wrote:Doesn't 4Kids have nothing to do with the dub? Most edits had to be made because of the CW's doing. I assume it's just FUNimation following Toei's orders.

Maybe Nicktoons haven't received the corrected versions yet. We'll find out tonight when episodes 1 & 2 reair.GotenDaisuki wrote:Then how do you explain Nicktoons still using Yamamoto's score?AgitoZ wrote:Doesn't 4Kids have nothing to do with the dub? Re: Dragonball Kai (FUNimation English) Dub: General Discuss
I can't, but how exactly would TheCW be able to edit their own version of the show? They would have to not only have access to the entire Kikuchi library, which is unlikely in itself, but also access to all of FUNimation's separate audio tracks, for voices and sound effects. Otherwise, they'd never be able to create their very own sound mix.

Re: Dragonball Kai (FUNimation English) Dub: General Discuss
They do have access to FUNimation's separate audio tracks, as can be shown by some of the dialogue replacements done early on where Sean Schemmel covered for others. But I doubt they'd have access to Kikuchi's entire library.

I would assume that FUNimation has access to their own tracks and are making the edits themselves.

Just checked Nicktoons' re-broadcast of episode 1, and they are still using Yamamoto's score.
