For those that haven't visited the site to see it, here's the new feature being referenced:

A lot of you contributed to it in direct and indirect ways, obviously, so many thanks!

Solid State Scouter? Well, that song was preformed by Dragon Magic Orchestra (AKA Yellow Magic Orchestra), so it makes sense that their songs would have a similar sound.dbzforeverUK wrote:Is it me or do bits of these sound like BGM from the seires and games we've all heard?

Re: General Yamamoto Rip off thread
Just found another one. Although the whole song isn't ripped off, "Powerful Man From the Darkness" from Budokai 3 (the song that plays in the Inside Buu stage) has a section that sounds like a sped up (probably x1.5 or so) version of a section from the song "Droppin' Plates" from Disturbed. In the Disturbed song, listen more to the instruments than the vocals. Hear for yourself:
Budokai 3 - Powerful Man from the Darkness
Disturbed - Droppin' Plates
Glad to have indirectly(?) helped out with this. We here in this thread are always on the prowl for more Yamamoto plagiarism.

Just read that yesterday; it was a very interesting feature. Definitely a fun read.VegettoEX wrote:For those that haven't visited the site to see it, here's the new feature being referenced:

"Ultimatum" from Budokai 3 is also extremely similar to The Game by Disturbed, which coincidentally was used in the dub of Cooler's Revenge

I can kinda hear it, but that's nowhere near as bad as a lot of the others.

Awesome feature. Aside from being the first time I'd ever seen a picture of Yamamoto, it's certainly beneficial to have a comprehensive guide to this sort of thing!
Do you follow the most comprehensive and entertaining Dragon Ball analysis series on YouTube? If you do, you're smart and awesome and fairly attractive. If not, see what all the fuss is about without even having to leave Kanzenshuu:

Re: General Yamamoto Rip off thread
VegettoEX, you should put that one that's compared to Sabbath's Zero the Hero. That one is definitely more in the straight rip-off category than the Iron Man one. At least it sounds like it to me. The background riff is the same (though not prominent in the mix) and the climbing synth is the same except for the last chord. Edit: Nevermind, it's the same for a bit and then changes off kinda randomly.
That and I'm a sucker for Sabbath and two album covers on the site makes me glee like a little fanboy...
Edit: Here, just for convenience I guess. The parts both start like a minute in.

I believe you covered everything.Taku128 wrote:You got all of the major ones, but there's also some minor ones that only make up small parts of the song. I pieced together a version of Battle Point Unlimited using Propaganda's songs the other day, and though some of them are a stretch I really think even those parts were at least a subconscious influence on Yamamoto.dbzforeverUK wrote:Found the missing link to Yamamoto's "Battle point Unlimited". It appears Yamamoto mixed Propaganda's "Murder of Love",
"P Machinery" and various bits in "The Chase" to get his resulted track, Tell me if he mixed anything else into it.

The 1:51-1:58 mark of Battle Point Unlimited. Your video showed that a portion of Propaganda's song The Murder of Love sounded very much like it. Now I want to show another thing I think I spot. Because I wonder if it could also have a part in it. It sounds to me like tiny bits of this song also has an impact http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zR792v5h66o. At the 2:06 mark. Anyone tell me what they think.
This one is likely a stretch. But I thought I'd bring it one up.
I have a hunch. This piece sounds very suspect to me http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qgxzXadDFi4
Although I don't know where it could take from, it may be from somewhere.

To me, it sounds very much like a true Yamamoto composition. Though, I'm not 100% certain, of course.Vhanos wrote:I have a hunch. This piece sounds very suspect to me http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qgxzXadDFi4

That's what I was thinking. Although the two aren't identical, they do sound a lot alike at certain parts. For instance, they both start out with an unsettling violin melody and slowly start to concerto into a more frantic sounding melody.jpdbzrulz4sure wrote:Sounds like Jaws to me.Vhanos wrote:I have a hunch. I would say that the Kai piece pays an homage to, but is not a rip-off of, the Jaws theme.
