IMPORTANT GT boxset question. Please answer ASAP.
I just bought the first GT boxset and on the way home I noticed something sounded like it was rolling around in the box. Does it come with something other than just the five discs, like an insert paper or a small toy or something? I'm worried that one or two of the DVDs are broken and that those are the pieces rolling around outside its box. I'd like to avoid opening up the boxset if I have to return it, as it'll be much easier to exchange it for another that way.

Nope, doesn't look like anything comes with it. Hopefully just one of the disks fell out of its hold, very minor damage is likely to have been caused to the disk. Can't you return thigns even if they have been opened in America? Don't you have receipts?

2) Some stores withhold the right to exchange certain things if they've been opened, claiming it was you who broke it afterwards. It's not a Canadian thing, it's a cheapness thing that many people all over the world do.
3) It sounds like a decent amount of damage was done (I was hoping there was a small FUNi pamphlet inside or something) the more I check. (My rolling it back and forth probably wasn't helping...

Ya I agree with you Dayspring and would exchange it just to be on the safe side. I've bought Funi discs before that had the disc holders broken or the disc had come loose and was moving around. And they DO get scratched up. What store did you buy it at?
Jerseymilk: "Can I tell you something?"

Yeah, this happened to me once. A copy of FLCL got loose in transit (ordered it online way back), thankfully the booklet stopped it from getting scratched at all.
Lesson? If buying from a retailer, shake everything in terms of DVD cases. If they all shake, chances are it's a booklet or something...or the shipment got dropped out of a cargo plane into the store ;p

To be fair, this kinda stuff is done in the US too. Though I dunno why they won't accept returns if they're open since some stores tend to open up these things and use their own plastic wrap. x_XDayspring wrote:1) I'm Canadian.

It's not that strange, really. The reason is that if you open music or DVD's, you could very well have copied them. Thus, typically most stores will only exchange an open product for the same product. It makes sense, otherwise you could buy one DVD, copy and return, and repeat until the entire store was on your HDD/DVD+r's ;pTsukento wrote:To be fair, this kinda stuff is done in the US too. Well then that makes a whole lot more sense. XD But wasn't this something done before people were illegally ripping stuff?MajinVejitaXV wrote:It's not that strange, really.
