Well that's true. But I noticed a lot of people assume because it is on that station at that time, people think Kai is for kids only, "dumbed down from the original". I am sure it has to do with censors, time slot and channel it is on, so it turns many people away from it. Ignorance from the public? :?

True. You don't know how many comments I've come upon complaining that Kai took all the blood out. It's almost like they forgot the DVD's existed.

Well, I find that ignorant in itself. Why are these people complaining about blood? In all honesty, who gives a flying fuck? Dragon Ball isn't just about blood and murder. It has other elements to it.
So mondo lame.

Besides, it's not like all the blood gets removed anyway. They manage to get a decent amount in. Recolored but still....

It's funny to see the Japanese censoring blood given how much fussing there was about Americans censoring blood.

Noobish question, but in the Wednesday episode, the dub has either Kuririn or Piccolo mention that Cell has Tenshinhan's cells, but later on the episode continues with Piccolo being surprised that he's able to use the Taiyoken, Kuririn replying that him and Goku were able to copy it easily. So is it ever clarified exactly whose cells Cell has? I know the manga and the original anime varied a bit in this.

Also, I couldn't take Thursday's episode seriously because of this :D.

I'm not sure since it's been ages but I can at least quote the DB wiki on this.

Man, Dameon Clarke has just been fantastic so far.
Yamcha: Do you remember the spell to release him - do you know all the words?
Bulma: Of course! I'm not gonna pull a Frieza and screw it up!
Master Roshi: Bulma, I think Frieza failed because he wore too many clothes!

I can't remember, but do they call Tenshinhan, "T(i)enshinhan" like in Dragonball or do they leave it as "T(i)en"?
I seriously can't remember...

They leave it as T(i)en. Kuririn called him T(i)enshinhan in the first episode.

One could think of it as shortening a longer name from friends. Didn't Chaotzu call him Ten-san often? (hasn't watched a part of the anime with Tenshinhan and Chaotzu in a while)

Yea, that's exactly what it is. They've called him Tienshinhann before so it's not a straight up name change. With that said though, I'd say 99% of the time his name pops up on merchandise it's T(i)en. It's a little more then a friendly nickname but less then a total name change.

The difference between previous utterings of Ten's full name and now is that Kuririn in Kai said it as if it were one name: Tienshinhan. In the original DB dub, it's split up as if Shinhan is his last name.
For all the flack that FUNimation gets on this forum for their quote about DBZ, there's some modicum of truth to it: a 9-year-old is born every day. Or in some cases, "reborn". DBZ may be a kids' show, but it's been so close to so many hearts all over Japan, America, and quite possibly, even the world.
Exactly. In fact, the 22nd Tournament is labeled the Tien Shinhan saga on the old VHS singles

On the surface it seems a fair compromise, but how is T i e n Shinhan any more accurate? Now there's even more syllables than the original name! TEN-SHIN-HAN to TI-EN-SHIN-HAN.

Sometimes I think Funimation just does things for the sake of doing them. Like when they used "Cooler" instead of "Coola" despite the obvious inconsistancy with Freeza.

You know, I never noticed that! :O

I always kinda liked him being T(i)en as a first/nick name then Shinhan as a last, but it's incorrect to what it was meant to be. I think he should still be referred to as, if FUNi still wants to recognize it, with Shinhan as part of the name said more than just once. In the least make it a last name.

As far as I know, he had been referred to as Ten not just by Chaotzu, but by the others too? I think in the very least call him as T(i)en Shinhan.

If I remember correctly, the only other person who called him "Ten" was Tsuru-Sennin.

Thought so!

I know how they wanted to go for proper translations but in this category I think they messed up big time.

I just got to episode 69 of the dub (been falling behind) and Dameon Clarke's Cell is actually pretty good. In fact, most of the VAs are doing well.
