Episode 28 had no retroactive uncensoring, and Sanjou! Ginyu Tokusentai was still the Japanese/English mix that we heard on Toonzai.

The next preview isn't up yet.
Hilarious that the description uses Room of Spirit and Time.

Was anyone kinda disappointed how tien was less epic than in z during his fight with cell?

Re: DragonBall Z Kai - Cable TV Version (NickToons)
It is strange that their voice resonates in the Room of Spirit and Time which is about as large as the earth. The reverb effect should be removed when they produce the uncut release.

Episode 35 is airing now, and there is no retroactive uncensoring, but what is new is the Kikuchi music mix. It is not the same mix that Toonzai used, so after Goku & Ginyu change back into their own bodies Baby Gohan's theme does not play.

What is with all the badasses going "Hi.." like they have seen Abridged Popo lol. Cell did it, now Vegeta.

Just saw the new episode and they decided to use the fourth Dragon Soul animation on Nicktoons.
Re: DragonBall Z Kai - Cable TV Version (NickToons)
Cool. That means they'll use it on Toonzai. I wonder why they never used the second animation. That was the best one imo.Just saw the new episode and they decided to use the fourth Dragon Soul animation on Nicktoons.

They seem to have positioned Frieza's theme that plays during Krillin's initial impalement. It starts when the camera's on Krillin and it plays in full (the uncut version's full anyway) instead of stopping abruptly.

They did that on Toonzai as well I believe.MetroidJunkie wrote:They seem to have positioned Freeza's theme that plays during Krillin's initial impalement. It starts when the camera's on Krillin and it plays in full (the uncut version's full anyway) instead of stopping abruptly.

My mock-up of a Nicktoons version of the 2nd ending. I understand why the probably don't show the 2nd ending, as it would be hard to have the transitions edited to a 30 second version. Also I wonder how they're gonna handle the SSJ2 scene. Edit out 16's blood or just cut Cell crushing his head completely, and when he actually transforms, the quick shot of 16's crush head might be replaced with another reaction shot

GT isn't bad, just sucks ass in comparison to the other 2 animes.

Can you tell me specifically what piece they used?DB_Fan1991 wrote:Episode 35 is airing now, and there is no retroactive uncensoring, but what is new is the Kikuchi music mix. If I remember right, no music played in that scene on Nicktoons.kei17 wrote:Can you tell me specifically what piece they used?DB_Fan1991 wrote:Episode 35 is airing now, and there is no retroactive uncensoring, but what is new is the Kikuchi music mix. The scene where Piccolo dies had no music on Nicktoons (Yamamoto version) as well. Maybe they're just some editing errors.DB_Fan1991 wrote:If I remember right, no music played in that scene on Nicktoons.kei17 wrote:Can you tell me specifically what piece they used?DB_Fan1991 wrote:Episode 35 is airing now, and there is no retroactive uncensoring, but what is new is the Kikuchi music mix. Re: DragonBall Z Kai - Cable TV Version (NickToons)
Episode 36 also has a different music mix than Toonzai does. The music in [=http://youtu.be/nH3UbQ07jSQ]this video[/url] is different on Nicktoons. Not sure what replaced the first piece, but the second one was replaced with what kenisu calls Horns And Drums. Also no retroactive uncensoring, so I'm guessing they also snuck uncut lines into the first 24 episodes

Re: DragonBall Z Kai - Cable TV Version (NickToons)
While watching episode 77, I noticed that the 4:3 master they use didn't have one redrawn scene that exists in the 16:9 version.

They seem to be getting rid of every piece which is from DBZ movie 3 and 12 recently. For example, in the scene where Gohan wails over Goku's death, M1023 played on Kansai TV first, but they replaced it by M1623 after that. Maybe some kind of copyright/budget problem is there.DB_Fan1991 wrote:Episode 36 also has a different music mix than Toonzai does. The music in this video is different on Nicktoons. Re: DragonBall Z Kai - Cable TV Version (NickToons)
Hmm, interesting. After reading that article on Kanzentai.com about the remastering of Kai. It seems the re-drawn shots were done after the remastering.
This probably means each re-drawn shot has a corresponding non re-drawn shot. I didn't think they would still have them though. I Just figured they were tossed away since they were being replaced with new shots. Why keep them? And why use one now? Does that mean when they sent this series to FUNimation, they gave them the non-redrawn shots too?!
I could think of a few places they could get rid of those re-drawn shots.

Why would you pull this off the Nicktoons airing? I haven't seen a redrawn scene be edited I guess I missed it, but, why would they use that shot a the only time they don't use a redrawn scene? I call shenanigans.kei17 wrote:![]()

I think it is because originally that scene was redrawn to extend the frame, because Kai's broadcast was 16:9, but because the Nicktoons broadcast is 4:3, there was no need to extend the frame since it showed all of the original image.

That's exactly what I was going to say. I'm sure that if we looked carefully we could find other instances of new drawings in 16:9 and old drawings in 4:3 when it was done to overcome the issue of cropping* for the TV release.MetalMadness wrote:I think it is because originally that scene was redrawn to extend the frame, because Kai's broadcast was 16:9, but because the Nicktoons broadcast is 4:3, there was no need to extend the frame since it showed all of the original image.
*I almost accidentally typed that as "crapping" instead of "cropping." LOL!
