I hope you really can really explore this time. I hope you can add a cape when you create a characters since I want to create a few superheros.

I don't remember Broly's costume having Goku's boots or wristbands. So I guess that means we can customize the costumes...
It's not Brolly's costume, it's based on the Saiyan Berserker from Dragonball Heroes, like how the Goku-like one has long sleeves like Saiyan Hero from Dragonball Heroes.

Although... I've just seen in another site a render of a child custom character. The site is down right now though...

The trailer must have been made earlier in development, when they hadn't added children yet. That might raise hopes for women and aliens too...

My bad.

Hope it has enough options for me to create makeshift Yu Yu Hakusho characters.

I'm afraid not, that custome is one set like all the others, it belongs to the long haired kid in DB heroes:

As we all are aware of, there are three main starters for DB Heroes. Two of them have their outfits in this game so far, let's hope they made the last one too, he has the best one in my opinion. It's something new and doesn't look like something we've seen in the original DB series before:

Enough with DB Heroes from me, don't want to go off topic too much.

EDIT I was ninja'ed by Neon Z. :|

The Elite Saiyan/17 lookalike's costume is a blue version of Tenshinhan's robed outfit in Dragon Ball minus the hat.

Yeah, pretty much, but its not exactly the same just like the others aren't. "Elite" adds different shoes, a belt, and changes out the symbol (of course) for the white section.

So, that means that the characters from DB Heroes are just pre-costumized characters in chibi form, eh? I hope that in this game we will be able to costumize, not only humans, but Namekians, Majins and Freeza Clan members! That would be EPIC! Also, we also have free roaming, as it seems! Great!

But the crucial difference between them lies not only in how they view the world, but in how the world views them.

Superman is, and always has been, a symbol for truth, justice, and upstanding moral fortitude–a role model and leader as much as a fighter. Though never shy about risking his life to save either one person or the entire world, he just doesn’t believe that the balance of the world rests in any way on his shoulders, and he has no need to shape any part of it in his image. Goku is an idealist, and believes that there is some good in everyone, but he is unconcerned with the big picture of the world…unless it has to do with some kind of fight. Politics, society, law and order don’t have much bearing on his life, but he’s a man who knows right from wrong.

I think we'll just be able customize humanoids. But, like someone else said, we may be able to tweak them to make them look like Namekians, Majins etc..

Yeah, I also think we will only have Humans/Saiyans only. But then again, it has DB Heroes elements in it, so there is still hope!

And now this is sounding like Soul Calibur IV. Without the variety. Interesting. A little.

You know who's going to benefit from this the most? Fanfics. If you've ever watched a Sparking fic, you already agree.

I hope they don't make the other races as not free dlc.

Since we can choose voices with character creator, it makes me worry that they may not include the Japanese option in the foreign release.

They've been stating since the very beginning that the Japanese voices are selectable. It's no longer a worry with these console games. It's been THE MUSIC that has been a toss-up (with all Kikuchi-based scores getting tossed out for international releases, though it seems that this game is getting an entirely new score worldwide).

Well, that puts my mind at ease then.

At the very least, it's interesting to see a Goku-like character speaking with Trunks' voice. :P

I'm interested to see what the options for female OC customization are like; I'd have fun playing as my own OC.

Also, since it looks like you can pick whatever color you want for hair...I could actually have a dark-blue-haired Goku? So nice. X3

Damn Spike, talk about going out with a bang.

Now BN needs haul ass in advertisement for this game so we could actually play with our OCs online.

And so the new age of DBAF begins. Either way I am getting online for my xbox360 just to face the many AF characters that will be flooding online.

Time to save up.

Well if this really is the first of 9 trailers then, perhaps this was just to show off the saiyan like created characters. Also since they seem to be inspired by DB:Hereos then we will probably see Freeza and Boo type created characters later on.
It's not too late. One day, it will be.
