Ah, okay. I thought it was much earlier than that. I just couldn't find any dates on RightStuf.

http://www.amazon.com/Dragon-Ball-Z-Mov ... B005HVWW3K its on more than just rightstuff now and theres the release date. It really does seem like you are just paying for the discs and the bad packaging is just a bonus it will literally be 4$ per movie.I hope for better cover art this time. I think they always put the nicest one as the box since thats what it looked like to me with the DB 4 pack. I would like to say its not true and shows the last movie coverart as the main one on the box but lord slug isnt the 5th movie. 4$ a movie is so tempting though just to have so even though I take care of my steelcases I wouldnt have to take them out all the time to watch it.

I know we've all rightfully been assuming this from the start, but I got confirmation from FUNimation that these will indeed be the "Double Feature" remasters of the movies in terms of video specs, and will have the expected three audio tracks (original JP, dub + JP score, dub + replacement score).

That makes me wonder, though... weren't a bunch of pieces removed from the singles to the steelbooks? It's probably no surprise to anyone that I never actually watched them dubbed, but I know about the "real bands" stuff from the singles, and I thought I remember reading that a bunch of that stuff got the shaft later on. Thoughts?

Nope, all of the rock music from the singles are in tact in the double features. However, in Movie 5, the arrangement is really fucked up. Some songs play a few seconds earlier than they did originally and cut off abruptly whereas before they faded out smoothly. Disturbed - The Game no longer has the underwater effect during the Goku vs. Cooler fight, either. However, Movies 4, 8, and 10 are just fine.

I hope to God they fix that problem!

Some of the vocals for 'Stupify' in movie 4 were removed when Goku goes Super Saiyan.

I tried watching Broly with the American rock band music last night, and I have to say that it was painful to tolerate. Not that the music was that bad, it was just completely unfitting.

I didn't wanna make a new thread for this since Movie Pack 1 isn't even released yet but...

Looks like Dragon Ball Z Movie Pack 2 will be released December 6th...

Looks like there is definitely going to be 1 more, perhaps 2, as another 4 would not include the TV specials. But I suppose they are called the "movie packs."

So has anyone heard if Funimation will fix that Cooler movie music error?

I doubt this release will be anything different than the double features. If anything I'd wait till we get the Dragon Box versions of the movies since they would obviously have to mess with the films there.

The whole point of the Dragon Box is so they don't mess with it. If anything, they add an English voice track and edit the menus and stuff.

If they had removed that terrible image of Gohan (there is something wrong with his face) I would have liked the cover better. Otherwise, I kind of prefer the way they did the first set with official artwork. Even if it was from my least favorite Dragon Ball Z movie.

So now Movies 12 and 13 have to be saddled with Broly blahness? I guess so.

I've always been perturbed on how to buy the movies since I don't want to own all of them, but then the combinations make it wonky.

Aw, that looks so... shitty, like it was fan-made. They could've done something else with that background instead of throwing Vegeta, Trunks and Gohan on top of it.

Well, that's just the artwork they have. Obviously, someone other than FUNimation's guys are doing these covers, considering they were also used for the Spanish releases. Plus, it's a copy of Movie 8's Japanese poster, anyway.

Seriously, and what's with the red background next to Broly's head?

Well I know for a fact! That if Funimation won't fix that problem, Than this set can go straight to hell! And for the record, I don't have a problem with the steel-book double features or English audio.
I also don't have a problem with the Japanese audio, But I do prefer the English music in the movies.
The TV series doesn't bother me which version i Liston too.
But if Funimation wont fix this it just proves they are lazy as crap. IMO
