Spike would be better served if this game were given another year of dev time. Well maybe next game.

And yet Mass Effect 3 is given like no deadline for their game and pushed it back again :S

But here we are, almost wishing that DBZ games be pushed back like that. What's the word for that? Irony?

Its all about how the companies handling the games feel about the game. If they feel the user base is large and has potential then they give it time. Otherwise you get Spiked. Clearly gaming companies don't think of DBZ as a serious or potential triple A series which is why it gets beat out by Naruto(which has its own problems), Tekken, Street Fighter, and so on. At the end of the day its all about profit, if they feel that a series is cash in level, then you get very little backing in terms of dev time. If they think a game can bring in some serious cash or bring in a large dedicated fanbase then usually it gets time, especially since those games get pushed back or given a good amount of time since they want a game to be good enough that it add more fans to its base or keep it as it is.

I was SO exited when I saw this awesome opening, and when I saw that we won't have SSJ4 Goku & Vegeta, I was SOOOOO disappointed, so I expect that TheDevilsCorpse's rooster must be very near to the final roster, maybe if you replace SSJ4 Goku & Vegeta with Goten & Kid Trunks. Too bad, I thought that at long last we will get a great DBZ game after a long time, but now I doubt it. :cry:

Assuming that it turns out to be true that we don't have SS4 Goku and Vegeta, I don't think Goten and Trunks would be the characters that replace their slots on the selection screen. There is no place to put them that makes sense, as they'd be surrounded by villains. My guess, since we have giants as a gimmick for boss battles, maybe normal Slug and then Janenba's transformation...

Not that I really care anymore. Judging from the recent reveals and rumors, I'm just expecting a very disappointing roster. Adding up the base slots, we only have one more space on the selection screen than we had in Raging Blast 1, and even then some of the characters seemed to have lost some of their forms (like base Gotenks and Cell Arc Gohan). I can't beleive they haven't freaking learned that you don't remove content and still expect the fans to be happy? Roster cuts are horrible to a series that basically lived off of the reputation for having a lot of them.

I'm hoping to be proved wrong here, and that they're just trolling us till release...but I have a bad feeling in my gut.

Who said anything about an SS4 Goku aura? The video only had an "SS4 Aura", which could very easily just be for SS4 Gogeta on the main roster if the news is true...

It's a game, since when does stuff have to make sense? In RB2, you could beat Gohan Buu with Chaozu, so why can't Gogeta be the only SS4? Write it off as SS Gogeta transforming, and taking up a different character slot because he skips two forms. Or just because that's what they chose to do...rather it makes sense or not.

And I agree, it would be asinine.

I don't know, I wouldn't go that far, I'm just venting. lol Spike more than likely isn't to blame, its Namdai. According to Treevax/Nostal, Namdai gave Spike a list of demands they wanted met for this game, but still made Spike suffer with the single year of development time. I have to give them credit I suppose, because they managed to change practically everything except the model's frames. They updated to a new set of graphics, character battle damage, landscape battle damage, fighting engine, story mode, character creation, hero mode, boss battles with giant characters, etc.

They managed to do quite a lot...but I don't think Namdai knows what the hell they actually want, except "MoAR SaLEZZZ!!!". They seem to be running Spike ragged, to add "this" because it will sell more, and to change "that" because people complained,...but they're impatient and think that these alterations will be a quick fix to make up for the sales they have been losing. They're blinded by greed, only wanting more money, but they don't seem to realize that their requested alterations are killing their money making franchise, and it is their own fault that they aren't selling the copies they want.

Ultimate Tenkaichi could have been amazing had they just taken a bit longer for development, and allowed Spike to work on the project like the "adults" they are. But Namdai is too busy acting like a kid who wants his go-cart to have everything under the sun because it will look cooler and go faster, and Spike is the parent that gives the spoiled child what they want (in this case because they have to lol). It would do everyone a a world of good when Namdai finally realizes that their go-cart doesn't look cooler and won't go faster...its an ugly and horribly slow piece of shit that was poorly planned out by someone who had no idea what they should be doing.

Sorry, I ranted again, but I think its out of my system this time (and directed at the right culprit). xD

PS: I was really overhyped about the cutscenes and GT characters and maaaayyybeeee, cut the DB, we'll get a BT3 roster.
Spike again created a fuckage. What's wrong with these next-gen consoles??? Good DB games stopped on PS2 for me....

Quite frankly I'm more disappointed by the fact that Elite isn't in the game than SSJ4.

Love the opening even though it didn't include Chaozu and Elite.

It'd be a good thing. Nakatsuru is like Toriyama's art clone, he's able to copy the style so well that sometimes even Toriyama can't remember which one of them drew certain pieces (like promo art, character designs for the anime, etc.).

I'm going to be pissed if the parts to create missing characters aren't in CAC. You have the art assets, why waste them?

Also, about no Teen Gohan: Isn't it possible that he hasn't unlocked him yet? Remember in the first Sparking game that you could unlock forms of characters that you haven't unlocked yet from story events that were already unlocked. Hell, you could unlock USSJ Trunks before you unlocked any other Super Saiyan. Maybe some of the later Cell Games battles are available to play already before you finish the rest.

Even though it feels like I've seen openings like this one before (everyone gathers and goes off to fight a bunch of the bad guys right away), this one's got especially vivid colors and smooth animation and I like that about it. It's nice to have 2-D openings back.

The beginning parts with Kinto'un and the Tenkaichi Budoukai are probably my favorite parts.
Also the logo being smashed into the rock was neat.

Yeah, Shida went nuts in this opening. I think he did the Makankou-sappou, right? As for Nakatsuru, I swear that the Super Saiyan 3 Gokuu here looked like his modern style, or at least what he used on the Dragon Boxes.

DB Xenoverse is not a DBZ simulator with fighting elements, it's a semi competent fighting/action game with DBZ simulation elements.

He did all the brawl shots until Goku gets punched by Hildegarn and falls to the ground. After that, I don't know who did it. I still don't see Nakaturu's style there.

The Dragonboxes are like a middle aged woman who still looks good through simply taking good care of her skin and body with maybe a tiny bit of makeup while the Orange Bricks are like a middle aged woman who get's 50 tons of botox, makeup and plastic surgery in order to look younger and as a result looks even worse. ~ ringworm128
