Isn't it supposed to be "secured"?

I'm also getting sick of the constant passive voice. Even ignoring "securized," the phrase "once the contact was secured" is awkward construction. Nobody ever seems to do anything in DBM. Everything is always done by something or someone. Here and there passive voice isn't such a big deal but when it's constant and you're getting it when active voice is a perfectly reasonable alternative then it gets annoying.

My thoughts exactly. I realize whoever does the English translations isn't a native speaker, but it's kind of baffling that they'd somehow make up a word.
I am not a native speaker either, but I take using English seriously. I think that it's just laziness, especially when we are in an era with dozens of sites that translate languages online, taking only 2 seconds of your time.

Either Salagir doesn't know or doesn't care. I'm under the impression he's writing both the French and English versions. His English as a non-native speaker is admirable but his mastery isn't sufficient for this particular kind of work. Somebody has to let him know that it's hurting the final product. What bugs me is that it's such a simple fix. He doesn't even have to find a new full fledged translator, just an editor to clean things up.

Well, he has been saying that he's been needing an editor for the English version, it's not like he's neglecting it.

As I understand it, Salagir has been reluctant to give that job to someone else because the person that's perfectly fluent in both languages "simply does not exist." Apparently, no one has been skilled enough in French to translate the dialogue into English without somehow changing the meaning/subtleties of his words.

Because the meaning of his words are just so clear right now... The moment he started using words that don't exist, I think that reasoning became bullshit. lol Let him translate it like he wants, and then just have someone at least do a quality control check so that the English section of the website actually has an English comic. As things are right now, the decreasing quality in his translations are slowly, but surely, making me want to stop reading.

The saddest part is how little time it would actually take. Any one of us could probably go through every page up to this point, making notes of what page/panel to fix, in an afternoon.

You'll have to go after Gerkin.

About the translation, really it's not like he needs only one person to do this. He could have the initial French-to-English translator, and then the guy who fixes it up.

These translations are getting worse and worse... seriously detracting from what could otherwise be a fun special. :?

Salagir seems like he's way too stubborn to even get a good translator.
Yamcha: Do you remember the spell to release him - do you know all the words?
Bulma: Of course! I'm not gonna pull a Frieza and screw it up!
Master Roshi: Bulma, I think Frieza failed because he wore too many clothes!

That said, I think the awkward English actually works well with the threatened guy talking. Feels like he's stuttering from fear =P

When I was reading this page, I misread "the Saiyan people" as "the Saiyan pride", as in being similar to a pride of lions. Lawl.

What is Gerkin? What kind of translation is this? This makes no sense. Why do I feel like they're rushing these out to finish by November?

I mean, you're pretty open about looking at cartoon porn. Why would you do that? It's fiction. The proportions of these women are not possible to reach in reality.
