Is that really Funi's call though? Namco/Bandai seem to be letting this game go quietly without much news whatsoever.

First, it wouldn't be Funimation's problem, correct? This is Namdai's baby, and though Funimation still has part in the contract for games, Namdai would be the ones paying Funimation voice actors...nay?batistabus wrote:What. The. Fuck. You're totally right. And that's Travis as Cell again. Sometimes its the old voices, sometimes it's not. It's like FUNimation didn't feel like it was worth the cost of dubbing again so they just recycled clips/voice files.
That said, I'm glad I'll be playing in Japanese. lol

Anyone still picking up the game tomorrow? I plan to pick up my copy before school and play after my horror film class is over.

Doesn't the Japanese version of these games re-use story mode lines, grunts, cries, etc. from Budokai 1?
Why aren't people complaining about the laziness there?

Usually they aren't reusing vocal assets from different actors...ShinMassa wrote:Doesn't the Japanese version of these games re-use story mode lines, grunts, cries, etc. from Budokai 1?

"I like the money it brings in, but Dragon Ball Heroes is the worst. That's actually the real reason I decided to start working on new material. I was afraid Bandai would make something irredeemably stupid like Super Saiyan 4 Broly." - Akira Toriyama, made up interview, 2013.

The Dragonboxes are like a middle aged woman who still looks good through simply taking good care of her skin and body with maybe a tiny bit of makeup while the Orange Bricks are like a middle aged woman who get's 50 tons of botox, makeup and plastic surgery in order to look younger and as a result looks even worse. ~ ringworm128

Re: DBZ: Ultimate Blast/Tenkaichi (Pre-Release Discussion)
So... we get a Colleen Clinkenbeard scream in the cutscenes and in the rendered cutscenes/gameplay footage Stephanie Nadolny? Jeez... and still no Japanese music.
Not necessarily. The problem here is it's wildly inconsistent because the new actors are in the animated cutscenes.Rocketman wrote:
For all the flack that FUNimation gets on this forum for their quote about DBZ, there's some modicum of truth to it: a 9-year-old is born every day. Or in some cases, "reborn". DBZ may be a kids' show, but it's been so close to so many hearts all over Japan, America, and quite possibly, even the world.
Re: DBZ: Ultimate Blast/Tenkaichi (Pre-Release Discussion)
I hope Stephanie got paid at least...
Re: DBZ: Ultimate Blast/Tenkaichi (Pre-Release Discussion)
I'll be getting my copy when I get out of school and the gym tomorrow. Unfortunately it has to sit in my bag until after work. Which would be midnight. XD
Re: DBZ: Ultimate Blast/Tenkaichi (Pre-Release Discussion)
Doubt it. Nadolny's recordings are the property of FUNimation the second they enter the mic. FUNi paid for the ownership after the initial recording and that is that.mysticboy wrote:I hope Stephanie got paid at least...

I won't watch any videos so as to not spoil myself but I will try to get the game on Friday, or over the weekend.
