AMV: Carry On My Saiyan Son

I was wondering what you think of this AMV that I made with DBZ/Kai and the song "Carry On (My Wayward Son)" by Kansas. It's sort of my tribute to Gohan.

The scene of Gohan going SSJ2 for the first time is overrated.

For some reason people use it in most AMVs. But this was a Gohan tribute, so it was kind of needed.

Good AMV though, it's nice to see one not covered in effects.

Nice song choice. It's not too often you see good DragonBall AMVs, but I think you nailed this one.

Well, it is overused, I realize, but it's sort of where the whole concept of the AMV came from. I thought that "Carry On (My Wayward Son)" syched up somewhat well with that scene (and fit thematically), and went from there into a full Gohan tribute.

Okidok, first off all: Horrible song choice.
It understand the "son" thing, but the song is way to happy, and the opening sucked.
I could write lots of more stuff, but i don`t want to be to negative.

You're already being really negative. It'd be nice if you could explain more as to why you think the opening sucked instead of just saying so. There's a difference between bashing someones work and constructive criticism.

I've seen some really crappy AMVs in my time, but this isn't one of them. Though, I don't think that this is necessarily the best song to match up with Gohan's character. Jumping from clip to clip without any kind of transition has a bit of a jarring effect, as is mixing 16:9 and 4:3 ratios - a simple, quick (maybe a half-second) dissolve here and there could help.

All in all, though, it's definitely a decent effort, and better than anything I've attempted to do with regards to videos. I learned long ago that I'm better off sticking to manipulating pixels in Paint.

I agree that i shouldnt be so negative, and i should give my reasons, and i would, if the AMV wasnt made by penguintruth. Because, penguintruth has been rude almost everywhere, and i have no respect for him whatsoever.
