Well they have the Internet, so they will just google it. It's not like back in the 90's or early 2000's when the internet was limited on several things and you had to go to the book store to learn info on this stuff. I knew that they would play GT on Nicktoons seeing how well DBKai did. Not to mention they did played Movie 12 and 13 on Nicktoons when those movies where released around the Buu saga back in 1995.
Toonami got DB in 2001, lol.
DB came out in the US in 1995 and CN play it around that time if I remember correctly?

No, I'm pretty sure it was in syndication back then. I remember Dragon Ball from the beginning. I would've been too young for that if it started airing on Toonami in 1995.

Toonami didn't exist at all until 1997.
But FUNimation's original Ocean cast dub of DB did air in syndication in 1995. Then their in-house redub of DB started airing on Toonami in 2001.

So does anyone think it would be cool to have GT (and DB) on blu-ray, alongside these new Z releases? I mean I would definitely want those in DBox format, but I wouldn't mind having the entirety of DBZGT on blu-ray, so long as the footage looks as good as the Z ones have been looking lately. Perhaps if GT airs, a decision will be made about whether or not to re-release GT, based on the response it gets. And then that would hopefully lead to releasing DB on blu-ray!

Funimation only got digibetas for GT, so I'm unsure of how a restoration would (could?) work on those.
"I like the money it brings in, but Dragon Ball Heroes is the worst. That's actually the real reason I decided to start working on new material. I was afraid Bandai would make something irredeemably stupid like Super Saiyan 4 Broly." - Akira Toriyama, made up interview, 2013.

The green bricks were essentially: zoom, DVNR, encode.

I'm sure there's a way to make a decent blu-ray transfer. The footage doesn't look that bad to begin with, but yes, the digibetas could pose a problem.

GT's not the cashcow of FUNimation, DBZ is.
I honestly don't care about DBGT series on Blu-ray, all I want are the rest of the Dragon Boxes.
FUNimation 2015 Releases I want:
- Kai 2.0 on Blu-ray

This is cool and all but if they skip the Buu saga then it's worthless. To the guy who said they have the internet, it's just not the same.... I had the internet as a kid back when Toonami first came out.
Anywho, if they DO play the Buu saga... they'd probably start right after the Cell games. Kai was 98 episodes, the rest of Z after Cell would be another 100 something episodes with an entirely different dub, score, quality, etc. I'm sure most kid's would think somethings up. I'd still love to see a Buu Kai arc, but it'll never happen even though they keep making new animation's every year now...

So did I, and back then when kids found about things like Dragon Ball GT and all these characters they had no idea about, it became fuel for schoolyard discussion and urban legends. I have a feeling that something similar would happen if GT were to air on Nick.
But are we forgetting that the video games supply characters that aren't shown in Kai? Ultimate Tenkaichi has the Boo arc in it, I'm sure. Then there's the manga. I think there is enough supplement material to keep the younger fans on the up and up.

Time to step into the Grand Tour!
This is one of those non-starter discussions; If they have GT, they likely have the Buu saga in some form and will show the storyline. Why? Moneyhats.
The other question; What about DB? If GT does well, and they actually do have it? Probably. Why? Smaller but still moneyhats.
My favorite movie henchman is

About Nicktoons using the US replacement music, just because for the Z films they went with the American bands / music it's not certain entirely the same will happen for DBZ's Boo's arc, or any other related Dragon Ball stuff.
AnimeClipse (a fansub) filtered the Japanese broadcast Dragon Ball Kai 16:9 episodes and ended up looking like this:

Despite the detail loss it does look new and great!
Nevertheless, I still prefer the original Blu-ray Dragon Ball Kai video quality over this filtering.

That filtering is pretty bad. Main reason why I hate many fansub groups. They think they have authority to mess with the original source.

Please knock off the mini-modding, dbboxkaifan. Some of the stuff you are "correcting" doesn't actually need it, and many of your viewpoints in this and other threads do not universally apply to everyone.
Your enthusiasm is appreciated, but if a moderator needs to step in, we will do so on our own accord.

Those filtered pics are horrid, what the hell is up with Tenshinhan's ear? I thought it was impossible to make him anything but hot...
As for GT being on Nicktoons, I highly doubt it'll bring in the ratings Kai brought in. I think the obvious nose dive in quality and presentation will steer a lot of viewers away...
This is the episode of when Gokuh enrages himself after Freezer talk shit about Kuririn

From who? Kids who aren't aware of the Lost Episodes ordeal, or the adults who aren't in their target demo?

It's a shame they don't/didn't show Kai here in the UK. I'd mainly be excited if they decided to show DB though, don't really care about GT.

Most American kids grew up with "Here's a bunch of barely introduced characters, most of which serve no real purpose besides being fodder, and this one guy is angry at this other guy for no reason, and this old guy dies when this other guy dies for no reason and they can magically fly and shoot laser beams and WHO CARES LASER BEAMS PUNCHES TO THE HEAD AWESOME DRAGONBALL Z", and a good deal of them think that's the "proper" introduction, with all the stuff that's meant to come before being unimportant fluff.
Nicktoons' "ok, 25 year timeskip and a bunch of new supporting characters you haven't heard of" doesn't seem all that bad in comparison.
