rightstuf ships about 2 weeks early. So a lot of people have had their copy for a while now.

Next time use the edit button please. Instead of double posting.
Woops, I didn't even notice sorry. Yeah, I know Rightstuf ships early but it's still quite a small gap between them, especially when you compare it to previous releases.

Yes that was by far the worst extras I have ever seen on a dvd or blu-ray set guess they were under a time crunch since they only had a month between them!! I thought it was neat but at least add Dragon Ball Z related music and of course I mean the Japanese music :D

One thing I wish they did was put the extra space of Blu Ray to use and have the U.S score in 5.1. Since its a target for dubs fans and would justify them tinsi bit more.

They'd have to either mix a new 5.1 version or upmix it. By why bother, it was always 2.0 might as well keep it so.

Actually, didn't the UUEs have 5.1 tracks for Broadcast audio?

The release, if anything, is one aimed at casuals who watched the series growing up. Casuals don't care about the music--they don't even know about the changes--hence why the dub with the original score is the default track.

I'm just going to say that they just used whatever audio mix they could find, no to mention FUNi has been leaving out the original broadcast audio in the past. This way their "improved" version with the original music could have the lead.

Been watching my copy of 1.2. Gotta say the more I watch the Saiyan arc, the more I love it. Gohan/Training filler and all. Plus Goku vs. Vegeta is still one of my favorite fights.

Last I checked they only left out the broadcast audio on the Dragon Boxes, the fanbase that generally didn't want it.

Just like Dragon Ball since Chapter #4.

Didn't the single re-releases of the Double Feature remastered Trunks and Bardock specials leave out the "broadcast audio" track as well?

In addition to that, the version of the series currently available for purchase on Xbox Live and PlayStation Network is/are the orange brick masters, and the dub available is exclusively that with the original Japanese score. Same goes for the free streaming versions available on their website / Hulu.

This is why I believe FUNi might be distancing themselves from the Broadcast audio.

Are you serious? I mean, geez, the Gohan one looks alright, but this one...I don't even know how to describe it. Maybe it's the art style, but I just really don't like the way that one looks.

I actually like the 2.1 better than the 2.2. It looks more... Dragon Ball-ish than 2.2.

By the way, where did you get those pics from?

Finally Gohan is on a cover.
Not counting Dragon Box 5 because that is a whole different story. He had to be used.

2.1 is all right, but 2.2 looks like they took a DragonBall image of young Kuririn and vectored adult version's face onto it. Oh well, I guess - it's the product that counts, not the cover.
For all the flack that FUNimation gets on this forum for their quote about DBZ, there's some modicum of truth to it: a 9-year-old is born every day. Or in some cases, "reborn". DBZ may be a kids' show, but it's been so close to so many hearts all over Japan, America, and quite possibly, even the world.
I think the cover arts looks great. They remind me of the Dragon Box singles cover arts in Japan.
