Re: FUNimation DBZ TV Blu-ray Official On-Going Thread
I know a lot of things are up for debate, but I don't understand how the press release can be misinterpreted. The releases -- as they stand -- are cancelled. No question, no speculation. Level 2.1 will not be coming out on that day, and if we get more DBZ on BD the remastering process will be completely different.

And that's what scares me
I love the look now!

The Dragonboxes are like a middle aged woman who still looks good through simply taking good care of her skin and body with maybe a tiny bit of makeup while the Orange Bricks are like a middle aged woman who get's 50 tons of botox, makeup and plastic surgery in order to look younger and as a result looks even worse. ~ ringworm128

Hey guys, do you think there's still a chance FUNimation might continue the Ultimate Uncut sets? It's been almost 6 years already!
But seriously, I liked the UUs.. they actually had my favorite DBZ dub of them all, the latin spanish one. I wish they had continued using that for their later releases.

Yeah basically if there are going be ever be released it won't be as good as quality I pleased I got my Dragon Boxes when I did. So it looks like the average DBZ fan is back to the crappy orange bricks.Ashura wrote:I know a lot of things are up for debate, but I don't understand how the press release can be misinterpreted. Re: FUNimation DBZ TV Blu-ray Official On-Going Thread
I think when Gotham says "they aren't cancelled", he's referring that FUNimation is trying to find alternative ways to release DBZ on Blu-Ray in the future.
Re: FUNimation DBZ TV Blu-ray Official On-Going Thread
Those BluRays with the kind of remastering process they received are cancelled, --future production of this has been dropped --, however, another BluRay release with anoher type of remastering process might see the day.kei17 wrote:My head is getting messed up. Anyway, they're actually cancelled, so Gotham should accept reality. And, I really hope the "methods" will not be like them on the Orange Bricks.MarcFBR wrote:They haven't been 'pushed back' though. They've literally said they will not be producing them.kei17 wrote: So true. They are pushed back forever, like what happened to Kai Soundtrack Collection and Raging Blast 2 Original Soundtrack. This release virtually is cancelled though they don't use the word "cancel".
This isn't a case of a product being 'phantom' pushed back to 'a future date.' They've said they will not be doing them, but they will look at methods to do similar in the future.

The question is, if this does happen, will they re-release the first 34 episodes in the new remastered process, or simply pick up where this release left off?sangofe wrote:Those BluRays with the kind of remastering process they received are cancelled, --future production of this has been dropped --, however, another BluRay release with anoher type of remastering process might see the day.

Re: FUNimation DBZ TV Blu-ray Official On-Going Thread
Anyone who legitimately believes to this day that FUNimation will continue the Ultimate Uncuts needs to stop drinking Dutch Boy paint. FUNimation has already swept that release under the rug and will not talk about it.Daimakku wrote:Hey guys, do you think there's still a chance FUNimation might continue the Ultimate Uncut sets? Re: FUNimation DBZ TV Blu-ray Official On-Going Thread
I don't know why they would rerelease the first 34 episodes, since they already have them done. Then again, they might want to be consistent.sumpter360 wrote:The question is, if this does happen, will they re-release the first 34 episodes in the new remastered process, or simply pick up where this release left off?sangofe wrote:Those BluRays with the kind of remastering process they received are cancelled, --future production of this has been dropped --, however, another BluRay release with anoher type of remastering process might see the day.
Re: FUNimation DBZ TV Blu-ray Official On-Going Thread
Yeah lol, it was a joke. I was making fun of the situation with the Level BDs as what happened with the UUs.. they're just sweeping the Levels under the rug under the guise of continuing them in the future.. but how long is that future? Is it coming at all? Very unlikely.Choujin Daizenshuu wrote:Anyone who legitimately believes to this day that FUNimation will continue the Ultimate Uncuts needs to stop drinking Dutch Boy paint. And that is why I don't trust FUNimation with finishing their DBZ releases.

I hope no one sold their Dragon Boxes to get the money for these, because it'll be impossible to get them back now.
On a different note, I wonder if Madman still plans to go through with this release. The listing's still up on their website, and it'd be the first time we get an official release that's in 4:3 with the Japanese version.

Aren't the original singles another perfect release? Or close to it?

Well they're in fullscreen and got the dub music. So until the dub fans get a decent release, the singles are what they got.

Re: FUNimation DBZ TV Blu-ray Official On-Going Thread
Well, define "perfect". They were released woefully out of order, some of them (the "Trunks" and "Freeza" discs) got silent re-releases that fixed a few things (eyecatches back in, subtitle height correction; and let's not forget the second "Trunks" disc re-release got the extra two episodes that were previously exclusive to the Burger King promo VHS), and of course the big one being that there is no single-disc, uncut/bilingual release of episodes 28-67 due to the cancellation of the "Ultimate Uncut Edition".Android 50 wrote:Aren't the original singles another perfect release? Re: FUNimation DBZ TV Blu-ray Official On-Going Thread
Wow, i forgot about the Ocean dub version and Funi never going back releasing uncut versions of those episodes prior to the Orange Bricks. Yeah, you guys are right....only true complete DBZ DVD set is DBOX. That's lame. I guess us dub fans only hope is mixing the dub audio music on the DBOX episodes ourselves.VegettoEX wrote:Well, define "perfect". Whats wrong with the singles? Are the unedited truly unedited, is it the video/color quality?? What makes them bad? Now I am all confused!AgitoZ wrote:FUNi's DBZ singles? Not even close.Android 50 wrote:Aren't the original singles another perfect release? Or close to it?
