Movie pieces
I've been wondering this since ever. Which musical pieces originate from the movies? I've noticed that many of them were eventually used in the series as well.
Re: Movie pieces
This should help. You'll have to go off memory a bit, but it'll at least point out when the series started using music from a specific series.

Re: Movie pieces
Almost every BGM piece you hear in any particular movie originated from that movie.
The only exceptions I can think of are as follows:
-In movie 9, the piece that played when Goku teleported to Earth to rescue Gohan is an alternate version (and one that had played several times in the show, I might add) of what played in movie 5 when Goku got shot down by Coola while protecting Gohan.
-In movie 10, the piece that played when "Piccolo" (actually Kuririn in piccolo's clothes) rescued Gohan from being engulfed in magma is from movie 8, when Piccolo (the real one) first appears.
-In movie 12, the first piece that plays is from movie 9, when Trunks fights Tenshinhan.
-Also in movie 12, the music that plays when Vegeta appears is from movie 9, when Vegeta appeared on the battlefield in that movie.
-Once again in movie 12, the piece that played when Veku (the botched "Gogeta") split back into Goku and Vegeta is from movie 8, when Goku charged at Broli and plows his fist into Broli's stomach (right before one last flashback to when they were babies).
