I just now saw this and have to comment...
GotenDaisuki wrote:If this counts, I bought a Mexican bootleg for all three series. The Dragon Ball portion was pretty good, had openings and endings, and even NEPs! Ahem, DBZ and GT were so bad that I'm replacing them with homemade bootlegs.
Not that I condone bootlegging. It's the only way to watch the Mexican dub nowadays unless you live where it is being broadast on TV. Besides, I already legally own all three series so it's fine.
GotenDaisuki wrote:100% dedicated to the Latin American dub!!
Ahem... now I know the entire series isn't available yet, or very easily, but a good chunk is available legally. DB episodes 1-28, DBZ 1-74 (although 53-74 is... kinda tricky), movies 11-13, and the GT Special, and all of GT is coming in May. (There's also Funi's Movie 5 single)

Buying bootlegs is dumb. :D

I was going to post this earlier, but then the whole Kanzentai + Daizex thing happened. I was being a slacker on picking up Kai, and then the first four parts got cancelled... BUT! I found Season 1 w/ Yamamoto and Parts 3 and 4 for a great price ($20 for the Parts, $30 for the Season). Lo and behold, all three were out of stock next time I looked for them. Yay for me?

Picked up Level 1.2 for cheap, too.

So episodes 1-26 has the Yamamto score on it? I figured Funimation wouldn't let that slide for the new Blu-ray release? :? I may just pick it up and give those DVD's to my brother. I'll think about it anyways :)
The Dragonboxes are like a middle aged woman who still looks good through simply taking good care of her skin and body with maybe a tiny bit of makeup while the Orange Bricks are like a middle aged woman who get's 50 tons of botox, makeup and plastic surgery in order to look younger and as a result looks even worse. ~ ringworm128

I'm sure it's the old Blu-ray release. The "re-release" sets aren't until later next month. Though, speaking of which, unless they put some notice on the package, it's going to be annoying buying them used years from now and taking a gamble on what score you'll get... :?

Which is exactly why I'm waiting to get information from here first before I buy it. I'm going to buy the first box on Blu-ray ''IF'' it has the Yamamoto score. because the Freeza saga is my favorite.

Well, if you buy it now you're guaranteed to get Yamamoto. If you wait a month, you'll probably get Kikuchi.

Personally, the best of Kai is Namek/Freeza's arc, not only the PQ looks great in HD but also the music.

I'm guessing towards Cell's arc the remastering was low budget and thus far why the white dots weren't removed.

I bought the 2010 release of Curse of the Blood Rubies today. Having never watched it before, I thought it was pretty good.

I just bought Season 1 and Part 5 of Kai on DVD online. I hope Season 1 has the Yamamoto score, if it has the Kikuchi score I will be a sad panda...

I can't wait to do music replacements :)

Hahah, yeah, I know. But I HATE HATE HATE HATE getting an incomplete release! Which means that it would bug me to legally own only a few select episodes. It's weird, I know, but it's one of my nitpicks. That's why I decided not to get the UUEs after they were cancelled, even though they had the Latin American dub on them.
So mondo lame.

Have you thought about the Spanish Dragon Boxes Z released in Spain? They have the LS dub.

Ah, scratch that, it's these ones:

Castellano, Catalán, Euskera , Gallego. It's still Spanish though, for some reason the Latin Spanish users don't like the Spanish from Spain. Weird. :?

No, no, and no!

All those dubs (aside from the Japanese, of course) are AWFUL beyond belief, even more so than the FUNimation dub is to the mass of Kanzenshuu. They changed everything, practically. A Super Saiyan is a Super Guerrero (Warrior), and the Kamehame-Ha is an Onda Vital (Vital Wave). The Latin American dub (well, beginning with the Taopaipai battle of Dragon Ball, as names were changed as well, but voices were not as horrible and the script was pretty close to the original) stuck to the Japanese terms. They even went as far as to keep "Namekuseijin" and "Saiyajin", not renaming them at all to fit Spanish!
Therefore I'm not even considering getting those. They're out of print anyway, so.....
So mondo lame.

This is offtopic, but I don't recall hearing the LS dub say "Saiyajin" but "Saiyayin".

To be closer to the Japanese version the LS dub should've also used Kuririn and Son Goku names, not Krillin and just Goku.

They pronounce it that way, but it's spelled out "Saiyajin". In Spanish the "j" is silent so it sounds like "Saiyayin". And they did use "Son Goku" sometimes, but it just wasn't used all too often.
And I'm pretty sure they made Kuririn's name "Krilin" because when he was introduced the dub wasn't the closest to the original it came to be. Early Dragon Ball had a lot of problems with names in general.

And yeah, this is getting a little too off-topic, so I'll end it on this note.
So mondo lame.

I purchased Dragon Ball Kai Part 7. I thought it had the last part of the series, but apparently there's another part coming. :x

It's actually called Dragon Ball Z Kai: Part Seven and yes, there's Part Eight, because Z Kai doesn't end with episode 88 but 98.
