So I bought Dragon Ball Z Tenkaichi Tag Team from Amazon's Marketplace, and before the seller dispatched I asked him if the game was the original/non-Essentials edition he told me it was as shown in the cover, but turned up edition I so much detest.. PSP Essentials.
The only problem I have with this game is the cover/edition itself, because otherwise I'm more than happy to have it.
I'm considering to return this due to the cover. Same goes for PlayStation games, only original no platinum/etc, and Xbox originals no classics/etc. And especially since Xbox games come with green cases I ask for a green case if the seller sent me the game with a black case.
I'm too picky, I know.

FUNimation 2015 Releases I want:

I have all original editons of DBZ games/most of my games but when it came to Tenkaichi Tag Team I wouldn't have minded the PSP Essentials version since I don't particularly like it's cover/lack of Japanese audio, bought it for £25 a few days before news of it getingt a cheaper PSP Essentials release! (picked up Akatsuki Rising cheap for my Naruto collection with PSP Essentials release, still looking for an original Ultimate Ninja Heroes 2 even though I have the nicer Japanese version)

I don't like buying Greatest Hits titles or Platinum Hits titles because I hate how tacky the boxes are. I don't like having a silver box that stands out in my 360 collection when all of my covers are green.

I play games, not boxes.
"I like the money it brings in, but Dragon Ball Heroes is the worst. That's actually the real reason I decided to start working on new material. I was afraid Bandai would make something irredeemably stupid like Super Saiyan 4 Broly." - Akira Toriyama, made up interview, 2013.

To be honest, I am pretty picky about that. I don't like having a case that looks out of place on the shelf.
I suppose I'm a little OCD.
Actually, looking at my room, I know I am.

It bugs me, but not enough to go out of my way to get the original version. I don't like it mostly just because of how the spine images don't line up right. Budokai 3's Greatest Hits release actually had extra content though, and as far as I'm concerned the added Japanese voice track is practically a necessity.

Yeah, I too don't like the Sony's editions like Platinum was and now essentials are. At least the Platinum covers were kinda decent. But it really don't bugs me. I wanna play the game and not the cover, as somebody said already.
Well, you can return the game in two weeks from buying it, because this cover isn't any flaw on the product.

I just wish everything was a steelbook <.<
I'm not picky, having a green, red, silver, or other color box can actually help it stand out in a bland sea of black. Being an American, I've never seen a PSP Essentials game, so that cover actually looks really cool to me.
Battle High 2, starring Kyle Hebert as well as myself, has been released on Xbox 360, OUYA, PC, Linux, Mac, and Xbox One!

For the most part, I am not a fan of these "best seller" repacks.
For me, it's not so much the fact that these titles stick out like a sore thumb on your shelf, but rather that the manufacturing of the packaging is usually cheaper; manuals that were originally in color are now in B&W and/or disc labels that were full-color images are now just boring text or turned B&W.
On the other hand, there are examples (Budokai 3, for one) of these repacks containing additional content. I'll never forget running out to buy a copy of Silent Hill 2 on PS2 before the Greatest Hits version replaced it...only to find out the GH version added in the extras that were included in the Xbox release.
More on topic, I certainly never like when I purchase something online and get something other than what was pictured. A long time ago, in an earlier version of the internet, I bought a Piccolo figure on eBay that, per the picture, was SUPPOSED to be the original Bandai figure. What I ACTUALLY recieved was the U.S. Irwin repackage. Same basic mold, but could it be any more different? I feel your pain, dbboxkaifan.

This is going back. Final.
Anyway, I've been trying to find copies of the game non-Essentials and seems pretty hard since all of them are PSP Essentials except for the US/Canada imports.
What the hell...
eBay:

And Amazon's the same, I asked a couple of sellers and their copies are PSP Essentials too. --"

Basically this. I really don't care what it comes in as long as it works.

as a collector you would be picky about this, i recently buyed TTT PAL Version in normal edition and essential ed., both for the same price of 10 bucks each .. besides the framed coverartwork, nothing is different, manual, gamedisc ...

^ Correct me if I'm wrong, but you're living in German aren't you? It's probably easier to find a regular copy of the game over there than in UK, all sellers I've found only have the PSP Essentials version, it's as if the regular cover's gone rare. ._.

germany, right.
i often buy db stuff online, but this time i buyed both "editions" in a local gamestop store, the regular copys of the other two db games for the psp are some kind of rare too, you only see the platinum edtions listed, fortunately i buyed the regular copys 2 years ago.

Don't remind me Germany and video games
I was like: Hah, EU, so there must be the same stuff like in UK!!!!
Everything I stumbled upon was with message: Spiel und handbuch I'm deutsch.
Not mentioning the prices about 70 euros.
Damn, I love it in Germany, but I won't look on video games anymore when there.
I just thought that European editions are all the same, in english or with the selection - UK/Ger./Fr./Spa./Ita.

They get these evil cases when they get re-released due to selling a certain number of copies (That's what started off the ps1 "platinum" concept) it angers me, but at the same time I accept if you wait to buy a game until it's dirt cheap then that's a risk you take, it could become very common and cheap to get hold of new and sealed with the "proper" casing or pre-owned, there again it could become hard to get hold of and extremely expensive, it's a gamble. I've left few games to that point, the only one this year was Lego Star Wars 3 which I had to get pre-owned for the same price I could have bought a new "classics" version.
Next to get; Leged of Saiyan figures and Freeza's force
If anyone sees
Any of the Legend of Saiyan line going cheapish
Or any other Banpresto DBZ figure
If anyone has a cooler steelbook dvd that wants to sell it (prefer new but used is fine) when/if the dragon box movies comes out contact me
