Dragon Ball Z Sagas Not as bad as everyone says it is

All I hear about Sagas is that it was bad. I liked it. Its enjoyable. I have not played it in years but I remember it being worth picking up.

I liked it too. It was a simple, dumb Beat'm up. I love beat'm ups so it was pretty enjoyable. The presentation was a bit buggy, though and it felt more like a mod than a real game.

I hate to play this card, but I think age and expectations has a lot to do with the game. I was 23 when the game came out in 2005, and paid the full $50 price tag for it on release day.

It was buggy. It was clunky. It was slow. It was dub-only. And I just paid $50 for it.

If I was way younger and still fresh with the series, I might think of it the same way I do about, I dunno, old Ninja Turtles games (Wait, no! Those were great!).

I was 14 when Sagas comes out and I didn't like it back then. My cousin and I both rented the game for the PS2 during spring break, we where both let down by the game. I got the game for the Gamecube as a birthday gift because I forgot to remove it off my birthday list. I end up selling my copy at the time to buy a different game (I can't remember what it was though?) and I haven't play it since then. I'm glad that I didn't pay $50 for the game and hard to believe that some people have nostalgia for this game (It's not even 10 years old yet).

I don't own the game, but I've actually been wanting to play it again recently. I need to take notes on the game exclusive characters. What I remember of my first playthrough, it wasn't that great. As Mike has already said, it had bugs and glitches that took part of the fun out of it. I remember Freeza teleporting out of the arena and then becoming invisible so that I couldn't finish the level.

I still think they could make a new version of the game using Zenkai as a base, and it would probably turn out amazing. lol

I found the gameplay boring and it seem like the combat system in the game was just awful. Once you finish the game then it seems like that there is no reason to play the game again even with the extra characters like Broly for example. I also hated how ugly the graphics look the characters models look very dated as if they came out from a Sega Dreamcast game.

It was just awful. It felt like a bad online flash game. I also remember wasting money on it too. The only thing I really liked was the opening animation.

It's the only game I've ever played that seriously glitches upon every playthrough. There was one time where my brother and I couldn't even beat Raditz because halfway through the battle he stopped taking damage (or maybe it was Nappa... it's been ages).

I think the only thing I really liked about this game were the original enemies. I thought they had pretty cool designs.

All I remember was glitch, after glitch, after glitch.....and the characters looked terrible. I'm glad I didn't buy it. But I agree with the cool character designs.....they just looked disproportionate and weird.

Well, I never played, but It the screen shots shows that it's terrible.

And no, Benefit of the doubt can't be taken on a game this expensive.

Games are like anything, it's a matter of taste for each and every person, so even though the majority dislikes it there's always a possibility of someone actually enjoying it.

I've never played it since it wasn't released in PAL regions.

I still remember Judgement Day's review of the game. I remember that they said the best thing about the game is that you don't have to buy it .

You think you have it bad? My friend convinced me to trade in some of games for Sagas(I was 15 and couldn't afford $50). It was the first game I knew of to offer you the chance to freely fly around and it's the only brawler type game on consoles. I was expecting Legacy of Goku 2 but with the power of the PS2 behind it. What I got was a buggy broken game(that now freezes on me when I fight 17 and 18); and on top of that, I lost three(relatively better) games in the process. I was crushed.

I remember I try to sell some games to buy Sagas but I didn't get enough for it. So my Cousin and I end up renting the game and thank god we did. I would be super piss off that I spend $50 on Sagas and Sagas did poorly which is why Bandai never care to released the game in the UK and Japan.

Wasn't the game commissioned by Atari(the US license holders at the time)? Atari did the same sort of thing for LoG games. If this were the case, it would make sense as to why the game didn't make it to Europe or Japan. But don't worry guys, you didn't miss anything.

I skipped out on my senior prom to get and play Sagas. Worse move ever. The screenshots looked so promising, too. At least the music was cool.

It seem like the DBZ games made in the US where hired by Atari and LOG2 only seem to be the only American made DBZ game that was released in Japan. Also you can't expect that much Avalanche Software on this game since they have been known to make crap like 25 to Life and the Tak and the Power of Juju video games.
