I really, really hope this match doesn't end in a beam struggle.

Unlikely, but I'd like it if Vegeta pumped a bit more power into his attack, overwhelming Trunks and sending him sprawling backwards and skidding across the ring in a crouched position. When he finally regains himself and gets ready to charge again, he looks up and see's his father holding his hand point blank to his face, mocking him in a fathery-Vegeta way.

This is something I can see happening, and would actually like to see. Vegeta needs to show his superiority here if he ever hopes to defeat Son Goku.

The only characters that would have mattered would have been like. An adult Pan with some weird female SSJ form, Vegeta who can go SSJ4, and Majuub.

No, that was never going to happen even with GT characters in the mix. The Vargas didn't travel through time to find their competitors, they are all from the same year across the universes.

Toriyama did this throughout the manga. Check Vegeta vs. 1st form Freeza and Tenshinhan vs. Goku at the 23rd Budokai Tenkaichi, when they are actually doing the same thing, grabbing each others hands pushing there power at each other. Wish I knew where to find high quality Dragon Ball manga scans, then I could show you...

Even though you're probably right, those sweat marks could just be to signal that he is in grade 3.

Yes, as we can clearly see once Ssj Goku and Gohan use their full power in the Cell games, the obvious bulging veins we see on Super Vegeta when he "transformed" are not present, nor is the extreme exertion of energy. Here we can see the obvious physical differences between the Grade forms and FpSsj.

I've been wondering if I , as the artist/writer, were able to stay dedicated to such a long running fan-comic. I mean, even Toriyama seemed noticeably less patient at the end of the Buu Saga.

In this case, I don't think its a matter of patience, but more a matter a time. Gogeta Jr probably has a lot more going in his life than a few years ago.

As for this page, this is the only page so far that will probably deserve the criticism that its going to get regarding its art, IMO. The criticism so far has been unfair and exaggerated, IMO, but not so much for this page if it follows the same overall lines. Anyway, afterwards, the pages have the usual quality. Its just this one that took a noticeable blow for some reason.

I figured this Trunks was capable of defeating Perfect Cell. He could probably even give Super Perfect Cell a fight.

Also, Vegeta states that Trunks would "only" give serious problems to Perfect Cell. Seems to me that Vegeta is saying that this Trunks could have a shot of beating Cell at the Cell games, but only a shot. In other words he is probably telling us that Trunks' power is still inferior to Perfect Cell of the Cell games or maybe its comparable.

Btw, kind of awkward having Vegeta say "Perfect Cell".
