Birusu is described as a god of destruction, and Uisu is just Uisu. Maybe Uisu is his anonym like Shin. Anyway, they seemed to have somewhat changed Uisu's design since the leaked poster, and Goku is not grinning in the artwork anymore.

That would be "Burisu". The difference between "Birusu" and "Burusu" are the first syllable, and make more sense when you say them aloud.

Birusu -> "Bii-els" -> "Beels" -> "Bills"

Burusu -> "Brr-uuse" -> "Bruce"

That's the best way I can explain it, but I imagine someone who actually knows stuff about the Japanese language can explain it better. I guess you could also say that for a "BR" sound you'd have to use "BU" followed by a syllable starting with and "R" sound.

Well this is interesting. I guess I was right when I had the hunch that the original leaked poster may have come from someone in touch with production (Hence the picture of a mac screen, and the differences to this version). I await more details soon!

The first image, with the poster, has text around the outside that reads:

[n.b. I'm not sure whether this is supposed to be an in-universe statement, or directed at what the fans take for granted about the series. It could be both, I suppose.]

There's also a blurb that reads:

Apart from that, the poster is the same except for some minor background differences (such as Yamcha's positioning) and a credit to Akira Toriyama for the Story and Character Designs. Whoever leaked the original image must have had access to the work-in-progress at some stage.

The term 破壊神 (hakaishin, meaning "God of Destruction") appears to be an actual title of some sort for Bils, as it's included in the box next to him that contains his name. As for my choice of name spellings, ウイス is the first three characters in ウイスキー ("whiskey"), while ビルス could be modified from ピルス ("pils", a.k.a. "pilsner", a kind of beer). I have no idea if that's anywhere near the mark, but the logic seems sound and that's what I'm going to go with for the sake of argument until I can think of something better. Japanese fans also seem to be in agreement, based on the 2ch thread and blog posts in Japanese.

Masakazu Morita previously played Tarble in the 2008 Jump Super Anime Tour special, Heya! Son Goku and Friends Return. Kōichi Yamadera, meanwhile, had subbed for Hirotaka Suzuoki as Tenshinhan in Dragon Ball Z episodes 82 and 84, back in 1991.

Incidentally, with Kōichi Yamadera playing cat-guy, I can't help but imagine him speaking in a thick Tōhoku dialect and singing his own praises. I think I've been watching more Anpanman with my daughter than is necessarily healthy.

I'm really liking that original design of Beer, he actually looks like an egyptian naked cat now. Seems to me that was the original sketch from Toriyama and Yamamuro or whoever just kind misinterpreted it and made the ears more rabbit like and the eyes too much like babidi's. I'm really digging this guy now. Because he's less of copy from that tobal character now.

Whiskey I don't really like the design that much, but it is cool that he's got blue skin and white hair. That realy connects him to Towa and Miira from dbo. The makaioshin hypothesis might really be getting some ground now.

I still think Uisu is female. Look at the eyes. (S)he has eyelashes at the side of her/his eyes, a trait commonly associated with a female. I see her/him as an uptight female, like some straight empress/queen.

Wow, looking at Kōichi Yamadera's profile on ANN, he's had a number of large roles!

Bils always looked like an Egyptian cat to me, and I'm liking his design more in the new image rather than the poster. I think the eyes have a lot to do with it. We'll see, maybe he'll continue to grow on me either way!

I'm getting excited!! I imagine we're gonna get a TON of promo stuff after One Piece Film Z premiers and they're done promoting that.

Really liking that "violates the common sense of Z" line; it fits in well with miniaturized Pilaf Gang and movie-figure-tie-in-Vegeta. (And gives me hope for some crazy stuff happening.)

Nothing mentioned as to whose side Whisk is on? My personal theory is that he's just the more magic-inclined of the two bad guys, but I dunno.

Figure that means one of two things. Either we'll see some massive retconning of how the whole god system works or we'll see displays of power that are really different from the standard DBZ fare.

This is looking great. I wasn't sure about Bils' original design, but now he definitely looks threatening. These guys must be insanely powerful... so hopefully, there's no regenerating going on here.
