Re: Will Nicktoons stick with Dragon Ball?
Nicktoons isn't a 'premium' channel like HBO or Starz. It's a digital channel that comes with a higher up package if your provider is the likes of Comcast, (possibly) Uverse, Dish Neetwork etc. and always has been that way. People just commonly get the digital package nowadays. Cartoon Network is on a basic cable package for providers, so it will always be readily avaliable in more homes, meaning Toonami will always be readily avaliable in more homes.
Anyways the last 2 GT aired. Did the Toonami version replace the shot of Goku going through King Piccolo's chest with a reaction shot of King Piccolo? Considering these are the Toonami Edited Versions I assume so, unless Nicktoons actually decided to edit the episodes for the first time just for that.
There was no promo for OG Dragon Ball or any type of new anime surprisingly. Honestly I wouldn't put it past Nick to not renew the license, unless it's a 4 year contract like how Naruto Shippuden apparently was for Disney.

GT isn't bad, just sucks ass in comparison to the other 2 animes.

I would rather not see Dragon Ball in it's censored form.
Slightly off-topic, but I would rather Toonami to get Fairy Tail instead of Naruto.

That part worries me a little more actually, so it may be the end of DB on the air here again.SRB2Unleashed wrote:There was no promo for OG Dragon Ball or any type of new anime surprisingly. Yeah, but not all cable companies packages work like that and like you mentioned it's becoming more and more common. It's not some obscure channel, kids know it exists and they are watching it.SRB2Unleashed wrote:Nicktoons isn't a 'premium' channel like HBO or Starz. Which, again, does not matter. Toonami starts at midnight on Saturday nights. It isn't a good place for anything.SRB2Unleashed wrote:Cartoon Network is on a basic cable package for providers, so it will always be readily avaliable in more homes, meaning Toonami will always be readily avaliable in more homes.

I think if Nick Toons wants to hold DB longer then they are likely going to play re-runs. CN most likely lost the rights to DB after 2006 since they stop playing episodes when they played DBZ Movie 12 & 13 on TV.

They aren't going toward the Buu saga or the original Dragon Ball. They're going with the first Yu-Gi-Oh! series starting some point in January.

I'm surprise they pick Yu-Gi-Oh: Duel Monsters instead of the newer Yu-Gi-Oh shows (I haven't been update to date with Yu-Gi-Oh since 2006). I'm pretty sure they will play re-runs of Kai and GT. You can still watch Kai during the middle of the night on Nick Toons.

Wait, so Nick is going with Yu-Gi-Oh now? Well...that's unexpected. Not sure I like them breaking away from FUNi just yet, but them showing more anime is cool.

People said that when Duel Monsters came out in 2001 or 2002SRB2Unleashed wrote:YuGiOh's the new Dragon Ball eh? Quite sad.
