No.

The website that picture is hosted in apparently doesn't allow putting it in other websites (a replacement image shows up instead), so DNA fixed that.

Oh, I got it. He reuploaded the image I posted to photobucket. The image showed up for me, so I thought nobody would have a problem.
Sorry about that, won't happen again

Just to be clear, even though I thought I was clear enough, I wasn't trying to offend omegalucas in any conceivable way, what I was trying to offend was the anti-hotlinking stuff from the original website.

Yeah and we Portuguese kinda use that word (well, the equivalent one in our language, that sounds like someone that manufactures pans/pots for a living  ) a bit too much so I can see where it came from :D

All of my likes bro!
Anyway, am doing Trunks in Super DBZ now, got the first colour unlocked, which is a dark blue... as in the same colour from the anime. Yay. I think all alternate colours might be the same for all characters, the change being what changes colours.

Edit: Finished Trunks, again, sorry for the shitty pictures, use the guide alongside for better colour reference. The first colour actually looks like washed denim, so kind of different from the original. The first unlocked one (third colour), is a very dark blue, kind of like brand new unwashed denim. Notice that the last two outfits also change the colour of the boots. The purple outfit has purple boots and the white outfit has red boots.
The Capsule Corp logo is all red with the inner bit black. I'll add a picture as well.

Am wrong about the colours being shared though. Also, Trunks has an alternate outfit, the armour. The variations are simply the usual blue or black. Nothing major. No pictures of that.

Update: Goku's done. Including his alternate Yadrat armour, it's black with all white clothes. My favourite is the black dougi with red under shirt.
I've found a quick and easy method to gain the Dragon Balls and I'm getting a bit better at the game in the process. I hope I'm not annoying anyone with my updates. I'll be doing Vegeta tomorrow unless something else happens to prevent it. The Artificial Humans will be next, unless anyone has got requests.

By the way, the Capsule Corp logo looks like this everywhere it appears:

Sorry for the crude MS Paint colouring.

Don't worry, as long as I can see the color scheme, crude coloring is enough! 8)
And your updates are nice, it kind of gives ideas of future possibilities for updates... though it kinda scares me a little since I won't be able to keep up with so many possibilities, you're going much faster than I can! :D
You guys will have to be patient to possibly see every single version yet to be done, cause there are many, many, many (although I don't proceed with any kind of order in mind, so any version of any character can end up being on the next update).

Don't be. I'm going at it fast because I want to be done with it and jump to the next project.
By the way, would you mind adding a note as to where specific colours have appeared? Some games share outfits.

You mean having more than one game mentionned when several games have a same alternative color?
Yeah, I guess I can arrange that to a certain extent. I can possibly write the name of the first game (that I know of) in which it appeared -to keep the name of the version pretty short - and end the description with "was also used in [name of all games (that I know of) using this color scheme]".

Kinda covering the "very special" versions of characters you guys mentionned.

C-18:

ImageImage
1) Anime / Manga version.
2) 2012 Toriyama would-be version. While conceiving character designs for Battle of Gods, Toriyama admitedly forgot C-18's original hair color. Without references to his past works, he apparently envisionned C-18 as having purple hair in 2012. Maybe he was inspired by that other, quite famous female android he had drawn in the past?
o.O Where did you hear that 2012 story?
Sorry, I intended to answer your question and then forgot for a while! :)

It was mentionned in the main thread for Battle of Gods. There was that big conference about it in December, with interventions by Toriyama and the cast (or maybe someone quoted Toriyama, I don't remember if he was actually there?).
While presenting the characters' designs, they talked about how Toriyama had to be reminded by the crew that C-18 was blond, since he had forgotten her hair and had made them purple on his designs. 8)

Vegeta is now done. The last picture is different because I wanted to showcase his scouter. For his alternate coloured alternate outfit he has his Saiyan Arc armour (complete with tail and scouter) in a red jumpsuit with a green scouter. Fun stuff.

Okay so Vegeta has a lot of alternate jumpsuits, especially because Majin Vegeta will have a few more to add to it. I'm sure you can cram them all together since the jumpsuit is the only thing that changes colour, unless you want to specifically separate him, up to you.

He has a few nice colours, Red and Yellow are my favourites, Light Blue is not bad, Green is okay, Black and Gray are boring and White is simply ugly to look at. Apparently Majin Vegeta has got most of the above with some exchanges, I think he's got Orange and Purple, that's gonna be fun.

Nice! 8)

Alright, something new but that I've expected for a long time has happened: I've hit the 60,000 characters limit (I wish I was talking about actual "characters" from DB...) and can no longer add anything into my first post.
I wonder if anyone around here ever made a post so long he actually reached the limit!
Here's my idea: since I can't retroactively add a new post after that first post, I was thinking of dividing the list into two posts, one for each half of the alphabet - which should push back the limit for quite some time.

I would erase the second part of the alphabet from my first post and have a new message at the beginning and at the end to indicate that the other half is on page 9.
Since page 9 conveniently starts with one of my posts (that of the last update which you've all seen by now), I thought I would replace its content (which is likely useless now) with the second half of the alphabet.

That would make two lists immediately accessible just by reaching the indicated page.
Page 1: A-M
Page 9: N-Z

I'll wait for your approval before I do anything, of course.
No worries, I've saved the content of the whole first post in my computer in the meantime (including that of the update that hasn't gone online yet).

GENERAL UPDATE:

- The list had to be divided into two different posts. From now on, characters from A to M are displayed on page 1, characters from N to Z are displayed on page 9 (a message has been added with those indications).
- The intro message has been removed, since now everyone knows what this thread is about, and the title of the topic is pretty much all that there is to know about it.
- Versions appearing in video games will now mention the different games involved as time goes by. The first game will be used for the name of the version, while all other games that are currently known to have the same version for this character will be mentionned in the description. This won't require "updates" to actually be updated, and I'll add and correct information from time to time, based on my own research and on remarks you might make about "this version appears in that game too".

UPDATE: DEMON KING PICCOLO / GOTENKS / KAME SENNIN / OOLONG / SON GOKU / TRUNKS (ALTERNATIVE FUTURE) / VIDEL

Kind of a manga-related update this time: Tankobon covers, full color pages, limited palette, Daizenshuu artworks...
More updates pretty soon! 8)

DEMON KING PICCOLO:

ImageImageImage
1) Anime version.
2) Chapter 155 version. A version of Piccolo used in a manga chapter. The kanji and belt are faded purple, with a slightly faded red surrounding the kanji. The suit is black. But more unusual is the use of a very dark brown color for the Namek "muscles" (instead of the usual "skin" tone).
3) Kanzenban version. The Kanzenban collection shows twice that Demon King Piccolo, regardless of his age, wears the same outfit than our Piccolo, with the same colors. The only difference is that he has the symbol on his chest, which is colored as such in the Kanzenban.

GOTENKS:

ImageImage
1) Anime / Manga version.
2) Limited palette version. Gotenks as he appears in the manga the first time he turns Super Saiyan, in front of a small but amazed audience (chapter 482). He's essentially wearing grey and black except for his red belt and ankles. His hair color is slightly faded, as one would expect from a limited palette. Eyes are also dark grey due to the missing green tint.

KAME SENNIN:

ImageImageImage
1) Anime version.
2) Chapter 106 version. He wears white all over. His glasses have a white border too, but the glass itself has a green tint (the glasses do not appear in this picture right here).
3) Daizenshuu 76 version. This time he wears blue. The glasses have a red border with light green glass (the glasses do not appear in this picture right here).

OOLONG:

ImageImage
1) Anime / Manga version.
2) Daizenshuu 76 version. From an illustration by Toriyama which was used as a poster. The original drawing has gone missing and Shueisha will never be able to use it again, unless they retrieve it from the Daizenshuu itself. Oolong simply sports blue instead of green.

SON GOKU:

ImageImageImage
ImageImage
1) Anime version. The manga version uses shades of blue that are different from this one.
2) Daizenshuu 3 version. Goku appears to be wearing purple instead of indigo/blue. The scabbard on his back his a darkened yellow. The difference is not so big in the end.
3) Daizenshuu 44 version. From a Toriyama artwork used as a sticker. Goku keeps his red wrists, but now his belt is red too. His clothes show a faded, light blue (not too far from the one used by Toriyama in the full color pages of chapter 1).
4) Daizenshuu 77 version. From a Toriyama drawing used for a daily school schedule (offered with the 1987 calendar as a bonus). Goku wears light blue clothes and orange wrists and ankles. He also has an orange cap, but it doesn't appear on this picture.
5) Kanzenban version N°1. A whole new outfit for little Goku is revealed in the very first Kanzenban. Black on the bottom, greenish-yellow on the up, wrists are almost black with just a little hint of blue, and the tail has a light tone. Later, for the Super Exciting Guide, Toriyama goes back to a look that's closer to the original design.

TRUNKS (ALTERNATIVE FUTURE):

ImageImageImage
1) Anime version.
2) Manga version. A minor difference is that the suit has slightly more blue, but more importantly, Trunks' hair appear unusually orange in the Super Saiyan 3rd Grade form (chapter 386).
3) Limited palette version. Another case of Toriyama adapting to the color limitations in chapter 386. The eyes and suit are unsurprisingly grey (because the blue and green colors are missing). However, he made the hair pop by coloring them with a faded red this time. Also, the usual yellow of the armor is dark brown.

VIDEL:

ImageImage
1) Anime version.
2) Tankobon 36 version. Videl sports a blue top over a white T-shirt. Note that though the outfit is the same, she has her first hairstyle in the original artwork, while she appears with short hair on this picture.

The twins are done. Took me a long time but they're actually fun to play with and very similar.
Pink and White is definitely my favourite outfit for 17, it makes him look like such a douche.
For 18... None of her recolours are any good in my opinion, they're okay but boring. I still need to unlock her alternate outfit and respective recolour so I'll update later.

Edit: 18's alternate outfit is done, I prefer this one. Also added Mutenroshi since I just noticed his glasses have different coloured rims from what you describe, these are yellow with green lenses. The outfit is blue. You should really add a version of him that showcases the glasses.

16, Freeza and Piccolo are done. For 16 I like the green and blue and Peter Pan colours (or retro Link colours). For Freeza orange works best I think. For Piccolo I kinda dig the white.

Anyway, tried something new with Piccolo to showcase the belt better. Maybe I'll update some of the pictures (or maybe all), to these so everyone can see the colours a bit better.

Quite unexpected, yet interesting!
Is it from Toei/Shueisha? (I don't know enough about DB cards to be sure of whether it's made by an alternative company which could have delirious spins on artworks or by the "rightful" handlers of the franchise?)

Sorry for the delay in updates.
I have a few pictures in stores already thanks to DNA's pictures, but I have to bypass an unexpected Photobucket uploading problem.
No worries though, I'm pretty sure of how I can handle it, it's just a matter of time. And I keep working on new pictures in the meantime. 8)

Oh yeah, I remembered that we used to have a DBZ board game here in Portugal I think, and I think it used cards, and I'm pretty sure there were some "interesting" color schemes in these cards...
Gotta search for it in a forum I know...
