I actually like the Ocean dub. the first 53 episodes and the first 3 movies are better than Funimation's release. at-least that's how I feel.

You mean with the cut-together episodes, the rampant censorship, inaccurate scripts, incompetent voice acting/directing, and Shuki Levy soundtrack?
A re-release of the first three DBZ movies with the Ocean dub would be neat, though.

While I do hate the fact that it's not uncut and it's edited together and I hope we can get an uncut dub as I said a few pages back. yes I do like it. also out of curiosity, how do you tell if someone is a great voice actor if their native language isn't yours? and the Japanese dub isn't perfect. (which I am a fan of

)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cqdL9o7osBM but everybody is entitled to their own opinion. I don't want to turn this into a dub debate.

and yes I agree! that's what I'm hoping for. but I would love to have this conversation through Pm that way we don't throw off the topic

The Dragonboxes are like a middle aged woman who still looks good through simply taking good care of her skin and body with maybe a tiny bit of makeup while the Orange Bricks are like a middle aged woman who get's 50 tons of botox, makeup and plastic surgery in order to look younger and as a result looks even worse. ~ ringworm128

I always assumed Gohan said "Kamehameha" because he was trying to be tough like his father.

It looks pretty similar to the old Ocean singles.

especially Goku! I hope it's the real cover, or beta cover..although I'm not really digging Vegeta or Piccolo on this.
If it's a rerelease, it would be cool if they included a booklet with all the covers from the singles

I don't care too much for that cover

It says ''the original broadcast'' but the characters look like Kai? or is that just me?
Edit- the Goku image is the only thing that reminds me of the old singles. well I was going to find a picture to compare but this stupid computer lol

The head is drawn too large/his body is too small. The proportions are off; if they want to keep Vegeta's body the distance away it is, his head should be only about 2/3rds that size.
On hiatus.

Do you think this has anything to do with Saban working with FUNimation again?
Not too sure since there is no Saban on the box, then again no saban on the VHS or DVD singles, as I recall...

Pioneer's boxset release of the Saiyan Saga comprised of 26 episodes, and if you look at the box art for this release, this also states 26 episodes (as opposed to the figure of 29 given in the item description). This would strongly suggest that this release is going to be a re-release of the original Ocean dub episodes. Of course, the "redub" element of this listing does rather beg the question, does FUNimation intend to redub season 3 with the Ocean group, follow that up with a release of all the Ocean dub episodes that broadcast after episode 108 and thereby release a quasi-complete Ocean dub of the entire series? If they confined any "redub" to just Season 3, that would certainly make this release more economically viable - perhaps even lucrative, as most of the work would have been done already. Alternatively, the intention may not be to release a "complete" Ocean dub but rather to release the "original broadcast version" of the entire series as seen from the USA. In other words, the "redub" element might be another mistake in the product listing. Such a release could be marketted as a kind of "nostalgia release" - which would certainly explain the "rock the dragon" subtitle in the placeholder art. All in all I would be quite interested in the latter, despite the cuts and edits, because I much preferred Sabat's original take on Vegeta in Season 3 and I certainly didn't care much for the Widescreen presentation of the bricks. Frankly though, in the absence of any official announcement, the possibilities for this release are endless.

It might as well say on the cover, "Now As Poorly Acted and Inaccurate As Before 1999!"
Gotta disagree about the acting. If there's anything the Ocean dub did well, it was acting. However, I do agree that this is likely a hoax.

Actually,
The Saiyan Conflict box set was only episodes 1~25.

I should have known better than to trust Wikipedia. Not sure what to make of this release anymore then...
