Budget of recent Dragon Ball games.

Post by Insertclevername » Sun Apr 28, 2013 9:57 pm

What were the budgets behind the recent console games like Ultimate Blast, Raging Blast (1&2) and Kinect? How do they compare to the budgets of the PS2 era games?

I`m guessing the budget has shrinked, as the games has been bringing in less and less money.

I'de imagine PS2 games were cheaper to make although they might have been just as expensive during that generation. I think the one with the highest budget this gen was probably Burst Limit. It definitely looked it presentation wise.

I agree, if we look at Budokai HD and For Kinect it's noticeable that little work has gone into these two games.

Given all the statements, it's obvious minimal work went into those two games because this years game was being developed behind the scenes. They used very little resources on those titles so that they could put them towards this years game along side the extra development time.

The video game industry rarely reveals the budgets for their projects. Given Dragon Ball is a series is licensed games in decline I can't imagine the budgets are all that high.
"I like the money it brings in, but Dragon Ball Heroes is the worst. That's actually the real reason I decided to start working on new material. I was afraid Bandai would make something irredeemably stupid like Super Saiyan 4 Broly." - Akira Toriyama, made up interview, 2013.
