New live-action movie rumors?

Post by MisterFlashdude » Sun May 07, 2006 7:35 pm

Now, I know a lot of you are jumping into this thread thinking "Here we go, again...". And I'd like to say upfront that I know most of the rumors about the movie lead to no where. I'd seen the pages on IMDB and read about it on dragonballz.com.

But today as I was looking through the DBZ section on shonenjump.com, it clearly says 'Recently, a live-action movie version was announced by Fox Films.'

Granted, I don't go on shonenjump.com very often. Maybe this is an old post before the majority of the rumors were killed off. Is there anyone out there who knows what's up with shonenjump.com? Is this a new bit of information or has it been there a while?

It's definitely been for a while last time I checked....which, well, has been a while. As far it being there even when the rumors were killed off, I don't really know.

Shonen Jump's website rarely updates. Very rarely. So it's safe to assume that's *quite* old. I read that same thing months ago, so ya, it's old.

Anyway, while we're on the subject, I wouldn't mind seeing CGI DB/DBZ movies, similar to Advent Children. If they can take Final Fantasy VII characters and make it look good, why not DBZ? Just a thought.

I'd say it's been there for a while. The whole rumor about Fox Films is from years ago, anyway.

Ah, I see. Then I suppose I gave Shonenjump.com more credit than it deserved. ^_^; Thanks, anyway.

LOL, Fox first made that announcement on March 12, 2002. Yeah, over 4 freakin' years ago! :P Just know that the chances of this movie ever happening are about one in a billion. Here's some old Ask VegettoEX responses on the matter...

After these articles were posted I remember some crap where a porn-star posted in her journal that she was offered a role in the movie or something. I think her name was Asia, she said she was approached by Fox to play a role in the upcoming DragonBall Z movie, but she was soon-to-be pregnant and couldn't. Truth? Bullshit? Who knows...sadly, this is the closest we ever got to proof of the movie being made. :P

Yes, yes. Those rumors I've heard. They were posted on the old Dragonballz.com.

I had only never seen the one on Shonenjump.com. I noticed that the listings for which manga's were/are/will be available were current, so I figured 'Hey, this is a pretty official source... unless this has been here for as long as those other rumors...'

So I turn to all of you! Who quickly and effeciently tell me that it is, indeed, old and outdated! Good job, my friends on DaizenshuuEX forums! And now, if another newb checks out Shonenjump.com and gets all excited, they'll quickly find out that there is no hope for the live-action movie. Not anytime soon, anyway.
